Teledyne Laars LLG 250 boiler The pilot light goes out for no apparent reason any ideas why

Three basic possibilities - draught, insufficient oxygen available for the flame or interruption of the gas supply - most likely the latter. Quite likely the pilot flame is either not powerful enough to heat the thermocouple bulb, the thermocouple bulb is out of position and not being heated or the thermocouple is faulty.

Our neighbor's pool heater/pump produces

I am experiencing the same thing. My neighbor has a 400,000BTU Hayward heater that's on a timer and everyday I hear it kick-on and in the evenings as well. The humming is inescapable in my unit.
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to move. I cannot stand it. Fortunately, I'm renting and this hastened my search for a home purchase. I talked to the neighbor's pool tech "The Pool Doctor" and he confirmed that the noise is something that you have to live with as he said that he was not allowed to reduce the pressure of the heater, which might reduce the humming and noise.

I am looking for a service agent for a Teledyne Laars Mark V pool hearter in Melbourne Australia

Hi there Bernhard Siefert... (G'day) (from the other side of the date-line.. going out on the SF Bay today to watch our Blue Angels (again))... God Bless them...! ~~ Easy to do... (network search) Just search on your right combo... I used "Teledyne Laars spares service Melbourne Australia" and got (after wading thru a lot of SF malarkey) Spa Pool Gas Heater Repairs Service Conversions Maintenance Try it yourself ... your results will probably be better... http://www.ask.com/web?q=Teledyne+Laars+spares+service+Melbourne+Australia&qsrc=364&o=0&l=dir&qo=homepageSearchBox There are lots of heater questions and answers on this site if you were thinking about getting your heater running quickly... but if you are un-comfortable with tubing wrenches and GAS heaters... a qualified service technician usually SEEMS to be the safest approach. I've always done my own repairs... because leaving explosives in the hands of rookies and apprentices scares me... and life is good. Good luck... be safe!
