These devices use a synchronous motor, and they work on AC current cycles rather than voltage.
Normally you can make them reverse two ways.
Unplug and reconnect quickly until it runs the right way.
or
make it turn the right way by hand before turning it on by giving it a hand in the correct direction.
But backwards is not a problem, mine goes both ways.

Unplug the air fryer: Before starting any disassembly, ensure the air fryer is unplugged from the power source to prevent electrical accidents.
Remove the basket and pan: Take out the cooking basket and pan from the air fryer and set them aside.
Locate screws or clips: Examine the exterior of the air fryer for any visible screws or clips that hold the casing together. These are typically located on the underside or at the back of the unit.
Remove screws or clips: Using the appropriate tools (such as a screwdriver or pry tool), carefully remove the screws or unclip the casing to access the internal components.
Separate the casing: Gently pry apart the casing of the air fryer, being mindful not to force it and to avoid damaging any internal components.
Disassemble internal components: Once the casing is removed, you may have access to the internal components of the air fryer, such as the heating element, fan, and control panel. Take note of the arrangement of parts and any connections.
Proceed with caution: Handle internal components carefully and avoid causing damage or disconnecting any wires or cables unnecessarily.
Reassemble: After completing the necessary maintenance or repairs, carefully reassemble the air fryer in the reverse order, ensuring all parts are properly aligned and securely fastened.
Test the air fryer: Before using the air fryer again, plug it into a power source and test that it functions correctly.
If you're unsure about disassembling your Tefal Easy Fry EY1018 air fryer, it's advisable to consult the user manual or seek assistance from a qualified technician or customer support representative.
Return the unit to Tefal for a repair under warranty, or claim under a separate product warranty.
If you have no warranty then your only fix is to replace it with another ActiFry. But as they're notoriously unreliable you might choose not to.
There is almost nothing user-fixable on the ActiFry and it has not been designed to be repaired. They have about a 3 year maximum lifespan assuming an "average" domestic usage cycle, and far less if used every day.

According to the advertising, it is supposed to pump and generate loads of steam continuously.
Steam ironing Recommendations: To prime the steam circuit, either before using the iron for the first time, or if you have not used the steam function for a few minutes, press the steam control button several times in a row, holding the iron away from your clothes. This will enable any cold water to be removed from the steam circuit. • To obtain steam, press the steam output button under the iron handle. The steam will stop when you release the button. • After approximately one minute, and regularly while it is being used, your steam generator's electric pump injects water into the boiler. It makes a noise but this is quite normal.
I would try a liquid descaler like CLR and try to get liquid up into the head of the iron as well. My thought is that something is stuck with scale buildup.
The Tefal website has Customer Support and also says they are repairable.

Hello again Julia
Despite my searching, I find that you are the only person to have this issue. I am guessing that you has a split in the steam tank, a bad connection to the steam tube, or a split tube. The only way would be to strip it down or take it in for repair. You could try contacting Tefal and see if you can get a warranty repair on it. Even if it is out of date, you can still ask.

Next time it happens and it trips.. use a dry towel to unplug kettle, just in case.
Is the base wet? Check the kettle for cracks. Check the cable. Is it damaged? Try replacing the fuse in the plug. Is the steam that the kettle produces affecting lighting or other electrical items around it? Try moving the kettle to a different location.
Check the power supply: Make sure that the iron is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. If the outlet is not working, try plugging the iron into a different outlet.
Check the temperature setting: Make sure that the temperature setting on the iron is set correctly for the type of fabric you are ironing. If the temperature is set too low, the iron may not heat up properly.
Check for mineral buildup: If the iron has not been descaled recently, mineral buildup in the steam chamber could be causing the heating element to malfunction. Try descaling the iron following the manufacturer's instructions.
Check the heating element: If the heating element is damaged or has burned out, the iron will not heat up. In this case, the iron may need to be repaired or replaced.
