Technics RS-CH770 double tape decks
Please check Capstan Motor working / rotating. If no, check its supply volts. If yes, then check Capstan Belt and FR Belt, should not be any cracks on it. If found cracks, please replace them.
Cannot adjust speed on a vintage Technics SL-B30 Turntable
SOLVED!!! I had the exact same problem after my Technics SL-BD35 had been stored away for years in my attic. The problem is not on the circuit board. It's in the motor. There is a magnet on the motor spindle that is picked up by a sensor to detect speed so the circuit can regulate to the adjusted speed. That magnet came loose from the spindle and was sitting still. No spinning magnet means no feedback to the speed circuit so the circuit cranks the motor speed to max. I used superglue to glue the magnet back on the spindle. TADAA!! Turntable works like new. HOW TO CONNECT A TECHNICS SL-BD22D TURNTABLE TO A TECHNICS SC-CH550 SYSTEM OR WHAT TURNTABLE DO I NEED?
If they are both Technics they should connect. There should a pair of connector holes on the back of the turntable, most likely a pair of 'Phono' jacks. Round connectors, one marked in red and the other marked in white. It may be marked as a "AUX OUT", "PHONO OUT" or "AUDIO OUT".
On the back of the System on the top section, (Marked as 'stereo sound processor''), there should be a matching pair of round connectors marked as "PHONO". Connect the turntable using a good quality phono cable matching the red to red and white to white. Personally I would recommend the gold plated type cable. They are usually reasonably cheap and easy to find.
You might have to change a setting on the system where you switch between radio and CD player to hear the turntable. It is often marked as 'AUX'.
