I have an external teac

I think that Teac DV-28e Is a CD/DVD-ROM only, and will not burn discs. Teac DW-28e is a CD RW/ DVD ROM unit, and will thus play and burn CDs, but will only play DVDs. Check your model numbers to confirm, and then consider exchanging units if you need to burn CDs.

First try a disk drive cleaner.

If still a problem, the only solution is to replace the drive.

Hope this helps.

My cd rom tray will not eject and the light is

have you manually tried to eject the disc tray? There's a little hole on there somewhere, stick an unbent paperclip or safety pin in it and push until the tray starts to come out, then pull the tray out with your fingers.

Once you've done that, push the button to allow the tray to automatically retract.

My cd rom is not reading any disc and i keep

Go to
1-my computer
2-then properties
3-then device manager
4-then look for your cd-rom
5-uninstall the driver (only if you have the cd-rom installation program from the manuf.) and restart your PC
If you don,t then find any conflicts in the device manager "like a yellow symbol" and if you find any try to "update driver".

Cd-r music files open, but

Hello,

the fault is from the lens of your CD/DVD drive. The lens is weak and that's why its selecting disc.

How long have you been using this drive? I think its due for replacement.

You can try cleaning it with a lens cleaner. If this does not work, then you will have to manage the drive pending the time you get another one.

Take care.

Draivar teac dw-552g

Here is the drivers you requested,

http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/download/download.html

If the unit is not functioning properly, it may be that the optical eye is dirty. Use a disk cleaner made for this purpose, or a can of compressed air for computers, and shoot air towards the optical eye.

(The eye is located on the bottom of the drive, under the slide out disk tray)

Burning Error - TEAC DW-28E

julia_roehl --

Couple items...

#1 - Buy good media, the lower the quality the more chance for error (slightly imperfect thickness = vibrations during burning, etc)

#2 - Try lowering your burn speed to 2.4x, seems to add to odds of being read by better machines

#3 - I'm sure you have tried, but have you cleaned your optics lately?
Using a Q-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol, and GENTLY rotate the swab across the lens, rotating it in the opposite direction you are wiping. This should "lift" any dust or grime from the lens. I would also clean the tray with a soft lint-free cloth (using an air-can just moves the dirt around, doesn't solve the problem)

Hope this helps!

If you have further issues, comment to this thread and I will be happy to assist you!
