unfortunately I believe typically you cannot return items without the box at least, but one thing I'd suggest is if you can take it apart or find a video on it, and spin the fan since sometimes the barring could be stuck, other than that just to be sure, you should probably buy a new one. I have the same printer; first need install the drivers, according woth your OS (Operative System), this drivers can find and donwload from this link: printers_and_all_in_ones/Epson_Stylus_T13
