My tappan gas range 316071600 timer wont stop beeping?
Press the "Timer" button on your Tappan gas range 316071600 to turn off the timer.
If that doesn't work, try pressing and holding the "Timer" button for 5-10 seconds.
If neither of these steps work, try unplugging the range from the power outlet for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
If none of these steps work, it's possible that there is a problem with the timer itself. In that case, you may need to contact a professional repair service to diagnose and fix the issue.

Tappan are still in business and parts are available, BUT, this is a gas appliance and you are forbidden by law to try are repair it yourself. Get the part and and have a certified gas technician install it and do all the leak and safety checks.
The ignitor only lights the flame, but that is likely NOT your issue.

Older Tappan range oven not lighting.
There is no way to light the oven manually. The gas valve will not open until the oven ignitor draws enough current. But replacing the ignitor will fix ya up.
I have a tappan 73-3951-23 over and under range . How do I get at the work light bulb ?
To replace the work light bulb on your Tappan 73-3951-23 over and under range, follow these steps:
- Unplug the range or turn off the circuit breaker to disconnect power.
- Locate the light cover shield on the underside of the range hood.
- Press the clip on the left side of the cover and pull down to remove the shield.
- Remove the light bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
- Install a new 40-watt appliance bulb by turning it clockwise.
- Replace the light cover shield by sliding it up into place until it clicks.
- Plug in the range or turn on the circuit breaker to restore power.
Note: Be sure to use a 40-watt appliance bulb for replacement.
Oven timer won't stop buzzing.
Hi,
Please use tools to unscrew the top portion of the dial from the oven and check if the buzzing stops. If not, then you might need to remove the entire dial/timer from the oven and work with a watch shop to fix the timing function of the removed oven clock. Or you can request the clock specialist makes a home visit in order to fix the oven timer/clock for you instead.

Tappan Speedwave 1000 turns on when door is opened
Microwaves do normally 'turn on', in that the light comes on and the fan starts running. If the turntable starts turning and it is emitting microwave energy, then you need to take it for service or replace it. To me, it sounds fine.
Foul odor coming from kitchen sink/dishwasher area????
Hi Jenny - I had a terrible smell coming from under my sink, and I too thought it was a dishwasher/garbage disposal drainage issue. I used vinegar, baking soda, bleach and hot water on a daily basis. When I cut out the wallboard from under the sink and the smell got even worse, however, there was no sign of any water leaks or evidence of a dead animals. Come to find out, when I had a "friend" cut out a pass through from my kitchen (above the sink) into the den, he cut the pvc exhaust pipe and didn't re-route it nor cap allowing the fumes to escape outside via the attic. Thus, the fumes had no place to go other than down. The smell confused me because I thought it was rotten food or most likely a dead mouse trapped between the wall. The smell was actually causing me to get headaches. It's been almost 24 hours that this was repaired and I already can "smell" the difference. I hope this helps! Good luck.
