Could be its just not a good quality watch, you didn't state the make. if its an invicta, then tbh, its to be expected they can be very hit and miss. You can buy demagnetizer for about $10, £6-7. Things like speakers, computer monitors or strong electrical field can magnetize a watch making them perform very inconsistently.

Standard Time Adjustment:
1. To set the time, press the Mode button three times (The seconds and
the word Tuesday should start flashing).
2. If the seconds position shows less than 30 seconds, pressing the
Start button will reset the seconds to 00. If the seconds position shows
more than 30 seconds, pressing the Start button will reset the seconds
to 00 and the minutes will increase by 1.
3. Press the Reset button until the area you want to change starts
flashing (i.e., second, minute, hour, day, month, and weekend. Press
Start button once for per unit increment, press and hold for 3 seconds
for speedy advance.
4. At completion, press Mode button to resume standard time display.
To reset the Alarm:
Press the B: Mode button until you reach the alarm.
Press the D: Restart button.
Press the C: Restart button to get back to the time

Try manually winding it (assuming it's not a quartz watch). If a mechanical watch is not worn daily it will run down and need to be manually wound to get going. Turn the crown clockwise about 40 turns.

You have to unscrew the knob first then you will be able to pull it out to change the minutes, hours, date. You may have to use a pair of small pliers to initially turn the knob.

Hi thank you for answers but it doesn't help me given I already have the bezel off. What I actually need is the actual size of the Spring? I know they are available to buy on eBay and watches.com.uk but to not even bother to respond to you inquiries for some reason?

Does anybody know the correct size of the "friction/ ratchet bezel spring" on a Tag Heuer WAC1113.ba0850 model 2004 - 2007 ?

Try pulling out the crown to the first position. Then push upper and lower button simultaneously. The red stick will start moving 1 second per push. Repeat procedure until it reaches zero position, then push back the crown to the normal position.

Pull out crown and then push the upper button and hold it. The chrono hand should start move and you should be able to adjust it. If this doesn't work, try the same with lower button. When adjusted - push the crown back in. In fact there are very many variations how to reset chrono hand, but exact advise can be given if the movement caliber of particular watch is known.

To reset the chronograph dials back to zero do the following:
1) Pull the crown out to the position where the date can be adjusted and push the buttons.
2) Pull the crown out to the position where the time can be adjusted and push the buttons.

Try setting the crown to position 2 - i.e. the position normally used to adjust the date.  Then use the top and bottom stopwatch buttons to adjust the minute hand and 1/10th hand respectively.

You need to get out your jeweler's loupe (best at 5x & 10x)... and look for the threads to "*****" (ski-rue) down your winder-stem (not a lock). (Features a Ski-rue down crown & back case) YOU can pretty much be assured that if the "stem" collar is malfunctioning (broken) the "water-proof" element is compromised (that's most likely the least of your troubles). More importantly... if the STEM does not properly "tighten" it can cause further damage against gears which MUST align with it... further it can come all the way out and be lost... Not an inexpensive part. Best direction would be to get it serviced by an authorized agent.
