The problem is most likely in the element in one of the coils, if they are the tube type and look like pencil thick heating elements, they can develope a short circuit inside them. The actual heating wire is encased with ceramic filler and then put in that tube. The heating wire moves when it gets hot and can work its way to the case and cause a short. Unhook the power from the whole unit and use the meter to check the rersistance of the coils between the heating element and the case

It is simple . Before the process make sure the the power is off .. There screws on the back after removing them you can lift the top n easily remove the none working ones . You can buy the spear ones online or local shop . I have done it myself or search YouTube with model number youse come a cross with repair option . Good luck . Two things to try. Either unplug it or turn it off at the breaker.. Clean the cook top control area and allow it to dry overnight. You can turn the power back on after cleaning ideally. In the morning, with the power resumed just wipe the control area off with your bare clean hand.

I have no idea why this worked for me, but it did. Good luck.
If that fails, you can look up error codes or schedule a repair.

5 year warranty on the unit.

Check if any button is pushed in in a weird way or if there's a lot of dirt around the buttons. Please clean around the buttons as far as possible. The problem should be fixed then.

Hi,
Did you crack your hob by means of impact or did it happen on its own accord?
I have a neff induction hob and has just cracked in 3 directions while cooking this evening. I am just trying to determine if there is a common fault with this neff product or I am just unfortunate. Mine is under warranty and have a engineer coming on Monday, so have the whole weekend with no hob as I have been advised not to use it.

Check to see if your ignition button in stuck down. Also look to see if the ignition wires have a bare spot and is shorting out.

Check your warranty you may be able to get someone to come out and have a look, and possibly replace it under warranty.

Bad switch or bad heating element, or, less likely, a loose wire.

Turn off the cooktop at the power supply. Leave off for 15 minutes and try again. If it reoccurs, something failed when the power went off. Schott Ceran is the Manufacturer and type of glass the cooktop has. You will need to get the name of the cooktop manufacturer and the model number. There should be a sticker underneath the cooktop with these details.

Have you tested the fuses with a multimeter? Sometimes they look ok when they,re not. Using the multimeter trace the wiring till you find where it stops, it may be a fusible link that's encased in a fibreglass sheath. Good luck and be very careful when it's live.
