2000 subaru outback has new fuel pump and relay but keeps blowing fuel pump fuse after a few minutes . is there anything else on that circuit

That circuit usually includes these possible components: A/C Control Module Body integrated unit Light control sensor Transmission Control Module Engine Control Module Fuel pump relay Ignition coil No. 1 (turbo model) Ignition coil No. 2 (turbo model) Ignition coil No. 3 (turbo model) Ignition coil No. 4 (turbo model) If it takes a minute to blow the fuse then definitely one of components in list is causing too much amperage. try a slightly larger fuse.

Subaru Legacy 1995. Continuing on from my no crank no start problem. The starter & solenoid are both working. The starter motor rotates & engages; but doesn't once installed. Looking for answers

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Is the vehicle automatic or manual transmission? Is there a security system? I couldn't get the whole diagram in one picture. With starter on vehicle, two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot with key in the crank position and goes through inhibiter switch for automatic. your security system may be involved and there is a cultch switch for manual transmission. The starter motor grounds through engine block. Any testing at starter motor, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Vehicle can't move. legacy starter motor-undefined-undefined-0.jpg

Strange starting issue, 97 subaru impreza won't turn over thought I had a bad battery so I replaced it with new freshly charged battery and get a slow turn over try but it gives me the dead battery

Dirty contacts to the battery. Bad grounds, battery to body. Bad ground on Starter Motor. Loose Live terminal on the Starter. Check with a multimeter. The key is voltages and amperage being in the right place. I would also test the new battery for voltage and amps. What happens if you connect jump leads from the battery direct to the starter? Hopefully Jeff Armer will be along, he is our auto electrical specialist. I am just an amateur from the days when fixing scooters, motorcycles and cars was easy.

Hazard lights flashing

I have a 97 subaru outback and encountered the same problem. It is a security device on all newer subaru's. After changing or charging the battery, leave the negetive battery cable disconnected. Turn the key to the "on" position, then reconnect the negative terminal. This will stop the flashing.

Replace blower motor resister in 07 Subaru Tribeca

Sorry I can't tell you where or how but it is invariably fitted somewhere in the heater air intake in order to keep it cool as during use on the lower speeds it can become very hot. Most are fitted high in the intake but some are fitted near the motor where the intake narrows to take advantage of the higher velocity air flow.

1998 subaru forester runs rough when it rains.

Check the cap and rotor for internal carbon tracking or, just change them. Also, take a look at the coil when its dark and rainy and see if there is any arcing where the coil wire goes into it.

2005 Wagon. Why don't backup lights, license plate & running lights turn on?

Did you check #14 Maxi fuse under hood? Check 1 bulb to make sure it's good, over my career I've seen too many cars come to my shop (Auto Electric) with all the lights burned out. After that I see a relay but you tested it did you swap it with another? That relay looks to be located next to the Maxi fuse. Do this unplug the relay then jumper battery positive into the Green/Yellow if it goes replace relay if not look at the switch check the Green/Yellow and Black/White they should both have battery positive voltage enough to light a regular test light if yes. Replace the switch. I hope this helps. Take care.

98 Subaru legacy wagon does not want to do anything when I turn the key wait a minute and it starts just fine. replaced the battery and starter.

My first suspicion would be the Security Control Module. It could be going bad. It controls the Interrupt Relay, which allows the starter to crank. If this is reproducable, looking at the computer parameters when it happens may tell you what is input is missing.

My 2006 Subaru will not start but all the lights turn on the radio it also allows me to roll windows up and down but car will not start like the clique barely sounds 2 click over

If you have full battery power then the problem would be a starter motor issue! check wires to starter motor and starter motor itself!

How to reset fuel settings of 2009 forester

Hi Robert, There are very few adjustments to carry out on the system. I would suggest a good service and the replacement of the air cleaner element. Have the vehicle diagnostically scanned to make sure none of the sensors have not become defective. regards John

Thermostat direction for 1999 subaru ooutback legacy

Is this to work out which way up it goes into the engine block? If you look closely at the thermostat You will see a large spring on one end. That is the end that goes into the hole in the engine block. when it is in place you should not be able to see that spring.

How do you know if there is a problem with a timing belt on 2004 suburu outback.

10 yrs or 105K miles. Change the idlers, tensioner and water pump at the same time. Also change the thermostat and radiator cap (using subaru oem parts). Most aftermarket thermostats are junk.
