Most likely the laser is weak. It has been awhile since I have changed a laser in a psp. But first off you should clean the laser with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol and dry it with the other end of the q-tip. It doesn't take much for them to not be able to read a disc. If it still doesn't work you will need to replace the laser if you aren't that great at working on electronics or very small things you need to find someone to do it for you. If an update occurred recently, and equipment has been registered online you will need to go to the online settings using the registered devices code and reset the update. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/aaron_42c23349a2d26c28

Try to play a game that you don't usually play.
If it's clicking might need to check the three little needs in the center of the cd tray one might have fallen and it's inside the cd tray and could be scratching up your games
hi Juan,
this is all i could find on the internet on what it might be.
Power supply is probably fried, but just try holding your finger down on the eject button and then flip the power switch back to on postion, it might help because this holding sequence re-boots the system and fixes some things.
or you could try this link to a youtube video, but what ever you try its at your own risk.
What to do when your ps3 won turn on
or see if this one helps you out.
Ps3 wont turn on Google Search
You can't share Sony trophies between players only the person that owns the sony account can have the trophies earn.If you want the trophy you need to play the game under your own sony account.
try with another HDMI cable.
also, is your ps3 connected to the net? some newer bluray support functions that are not available on the player and they need an update.
given how old the ps3 is, it may not fully support playback.
Your software may be corrupted since killing power during download operations often causes big hassles. Sceck with Sony to see if you can reset unit electronics to factory defaults.
If another known working unit exhibits same propensity, then the issue is not with the drive but rather the electronics it is plugged into. See if there is a factory reset for your PS3. Otherwise you are SOL.
