try a wired controller. those batteries on the wireless controllers are cheap. the console might be dirty so cleaning the air vents can help it run smoothly. as long as its not overheating then youre good to go.
This happened to me a few years back so I apologize if it's not 100% accurate. If you can get it to work on another TV, go ahead and connect it to that, and go in to the settings to select the video input. If it's connected through an HDMI cable, then it will probably be set to HDMI. Change the input here to whatever cable you used in the living room. You will have to power it off at this stage, but when you connect to the other TV it should work.
PS3 may have been doing an update of some kind and you have interrupted it and damaged the system software.
You might be able to download the system software and install it back back it will most likely wipe everything saved on your ps3.
Not sure how to do this as I have never turned off the power during an update ?
Found this site not sure if it will help
as it does not explain how to install the software onto a ps3
https://www.playstation.com/en-au/get-help/ps3-system-software/
but this you tube video explains how to do it

Also you could have instead interrupted a need for speed update. It needs to update to play in network mode .
It sounds like the disk reader could be damaged. PS2 is an old console so I think it is just dying. You could try this. How to Fix PS2 Disk Read Errors
Device either has been muted by the console, or the input/connector could be loose. If either is not the case check the cord being used, and attempt all updates possible via both devices. You can do this two ways. First, press the home button on the controller, the with the
Second, go to the system and there should be two buttons one is 'eject' the other is 'power' press the one that looks like this
try reverting to the old version, check if the games are still on the drive of the system. You could also re download the games you had purchased if that's a thing that you could maybe possibly do.
NBA 2K17 is not free, however there is a free mini-game called NBA2K17: The Prelude. This mini-game allows you to create your player to compete in the MyCareer mode. Using the mobile app, you can scan your face and import it in the game. You decide which college to play for, and can even decide your own nickname. You don't play an entire college career, but a few key games that will help determine your draft status. You don't even play full games, only two 6 minute halves. Depending on how well you do, you will either play the whole game, or get subbed out. After each game, your draft status will either rise or fall, depending on how well you played. After you finish, you are prompted to buy the game in order to see where you end up in the draft.
That is just network error.
Your PS3 has not got a IP Address and/or name resolution from DNS.
Try a wired network if you are on wireless or vice versa.
If you can hear the music in your PlayStation 3 (PS3) but people speaking sounds faint and echoed, there are a few things you can try to improve the sound quality:
1. Adjust the audio settings: Go to the PS3 menu and select "Settings" > "Sound Settings" > "Audio Output Settings." Choose the appropriate audio output settings for your system and TV or monitor, and make sure that the correct input channel is selected.
2. Check your connections: Make sure that all of your cables are securely connected to the PS3 and the TV or monitor. If the cables are loose, this can cause poor sound quality.
3. Check the game or movie settings: If you are playing a game or watching a movie, check the audio settings within the game or movie to ensure that the sound is optimized for your TV or monitor.
4. Adjust your TV or monitor settings: If the sound quality is still poor, adjust your TV or monitor settings. You may need to adjust the bass, treble, and other audio settings to improve the sound quality.
5. Use headphones: If none of the above solutions work, consider using headphones to listen to the sound from your PS3. This can provide better sound quality and reduce background noise and echoes.
If you continue to experience problems with the sound quality on your PS3, you may need to contact Sony customer support for further assistance or repair.
Take care and have a great day! -Alex
