To region unlock your Playstation 2 console you need an unlock DVD. Something like http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation2/4-/94716/-/Product.html

DVDs have reigon codes. A PS3 sold in the US will only play DVDs and Blu-Rays that have a region code of 1. DVDs sold in Brazil have the region code of 4, so they will not work.

disable the media servers. It works. I didnt believe it but it does every time.

Hold in the select button while entering the numbers 7444. Otherwise the code won't work. If you do it correctly, it will delete the password and allow you to enter a new one.

Ok...this sounds crazy but it happened to one of my PSPs. I updated the firmware on my system and the menu started stalling and taking a long time to respond. I shut the PSP all the way down....holding the power button until the light shuts off (about 4 or 5 seconds)...Hold the R button and power the system on again (you should be in recovery mode)...go to CPU speed and make sure it is either set at "Default" or "222"....I belive 222 is the default setting....also make sure the UMD is also set at "Default" or 222....if you're going to use the UMD.

I have been using Outlook for seveval decedes and met similar error with my Outlook PST files before and got it solved with this Outlook PST Repair Software, the software extracts & restores those inaccessible Outlook items in a new .pst file and enables complete Outlook data recovery. You need to RESTORE FILE SYSTEM to correct that.

HOW TO GO TO THE RECOVERY MENU OF PS3 SYSTEM

1. Make sure the ps3 is plugged in (stand by mode).
2. Put out your usb cable for the controller and the controller itself (do not connect yet).
3. Hold down power firmly, ps3 will turn on and then turn off, release power button when it turns off.
4. Hold down power again, you will hear a beep and then a double beep, when you hear that double beep release the power button.
5. Now you should be seeing something in your monitor that say "Connect usb controller", do just that.
6. After connecting the controller press PS button.
7. You are now in the recovery menu.
8. To fix the problem of corrupt data you can choose #3.
9. If you want to format your hard drive choose #5. Be aware that this option will delete everything that is in your hard drive.
10. Remember that doing #3 and #5 is not 100% to fix the problem of corrupt data, I say about 70%.

Just hold power button for 5 sec when it beebs let off! this resets your video and will now let the game work! I did not realize if your tv settings are changed some games will work while others give an error. this fixed the problem for me on Black ops! Good luck.

it's probably the codec you're using. divx works nicely.

the ps3 will only play dvd's from your region(e.g. region 1 usa, 2 europe etc..) So depending on where you got your dvd, if it's not the region as your ps3, the ps3 will not play the dvd. however the ps3 will play blu-rays and games from anywhere in the world as it plays region-free blu-ray discs. I know it's a pain in the neck, but you will have to find a region free dvd player to play that dvd. Hope this helps.

1. Plug in the USB drive that contains the data.
2. On the XMB go to Settings then System Settings
3. Go to Back Up Utility like before but
4. Choose Restore rather than Back Up
5. The PS3 does the rest

You can have the PS3 delete the data file from the USB drive by choosing Delete Backup Data.

First step should be to change the game by the new one (or clean the disc). If this still not help please advice.

Short answer...yes, would you like to invest what would likely be days learning the process? There may be a mod ship out there somewhere, but unless you are willing to modify the PS3 in someway that would likely void any warranties, then you're going to have to find a DVD for your region. A mod without a chip would involve installing linux in addition to the OS that the playstation comes with. I'm sure the process has gotten easier since I last checked, but I found it too painstaking.

If your term of "easy" means exploits or something similar, then no. All the exploits as far as I am aware have been patched. If you're looking for methods the best thing I can recommend is completing the criminal master mind challenge as it pays out 10 million per person and is much easier than you may think with a well-coordinated team. There is also the fact that once a person dies you can simply close the application and it will not reset the challenge. Other than that just grinding missions and keeping an eye out for events is the only way.

You maybe able to get a region free code from one of these WEB sites for your Samsung player.

Also, try a Quick format on the harddrive ( you'll lose game data though)

It's your blu-ray drive.

They last only 1-3 years with average use. It's a Sony defect.

The laser is three part (cd / dvd / blu-ray). The blu-ray is usually first to go.
