Printing only bottom half of picture.

I had the exact same issue with mine! I didn't manage to fix it, but I know exactly what the issue is. If you open the printer, you'll find a black rectangular box above where the film fits inside the printer. This black box is connected to the board above it, and is supposed to press down against the film, and then against the paper for it to print properly. There is a little bar above the rectangular box, and there should be two plastic pieces on both ends of this bar. The bar is also connected to the gears, and when the gears move the bar, the two plastic pieces coming off of the bar push the black box down. When I looked at mine, only one of the plastic pieces was doing its job; the other one was broken, and was sliding on the bar. Tried some super glue, wouldn't work. I suggest tossing it out like I did, unless it's still under warranty or you want to try fixing the plastic piece so the printer head gets pressed down all the way.

Cartridge is stuck in printer ,how to take out

Since it is small take it back to where you get your cartridges and ask them to replace it for you! You will need a new cartridge anyway.

Need driver for sony dpp-fp55 thermal photo printer for mac

I have a terrific Sony dpp fp55 dye sublimation printer that worked great until Sony decided not to update the drivers for Windows 7. This is the second time I have had a Sony product, the last was a laptop Vaio, and Sony stopped keeping up with drivers for new operating systems. I did make a work around. First I hammered the VAIO until it was flat and the disk drive could not be used to gather any information. With the sony dpp fp55, I did better. I used my desktop computer with Windows 7 professional to pass all the photos that I wanted to print to a memory card on my Toshiba laptop. That was easy. Then I moved the card to my sony dpp fp55 printer and printed my photos from the memory card. Works fine. Not a big convenience. I also decided to take that hammer to my thumb if I ever bought another Sony product with their Sony Corporation plan of obsolescence, by not keeping up with drivers for their products. I know they have the ability but when you call, they just offer you a new printer. No way, baby. I don't like their business philosophy or their hand in my pocket.

Len.

Driver compatible mac

So there's good news and bad news. . The bad news is that it doesn't look like there is a driver for Mac, and Sony apparently has no intention of every developing/releasing one. . The good news is that you can still print photos by taking advantage of the printer's ability to print directly from a camera. . You can upload the photos directly to a memory card using a memory card reader, and then put the card into a camera and print from there. Note that the camera might not accept the photos if you are taking them out of iPhoto, because iPhoto does a conversion on imported pictures that the cameras sometimes don't understand when you try to put them back on the camera. If you want to edit the photos, use a program called GIMP instead of iPhoto. Here's the download link: http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/Download.html . Hope this helps!

Driver pour sony DPP-FP30 sur apple

Hi there.

Unfortunately this is not MAC compatible. The only way to get this working with a MAC is using a VIRTUAL PC in your Mac. Once you are on the pc side of the machine, you can download the driver for the WINDOWS OS you will be using.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you!

Sony DPP-FP50-Colors print in different

Hi,
I was actually a bit surprised that you were able to run it using windows 7. Sony did not release any specific driver designed for windows 7 operating systems and this can cause an issue to printing operations if you have used older drivers. Try running the main printer application on compatibility mode and see if it resolves your issue. Right click on the main application shortcut and click on properties. Go to compatibility tab and choose a lower operating system (e.g. Windows XP service pack 2). Save the changes by clicking on OK and test the printer. If this won't work, I would strongly suggest you uninstall the printer and removed all instances of it in Printers and Devices. Remove all applications associated with it (uninstall). reboot the computer and if the Printer came with an installation CD, used it to setup the printer. Make sure that the printer is plugged off the pc when you run the setup. Plug it only when prompted during the installation procedure. This is important to avoid driver conflicts.
Post here if it works for you or not.
Thanks for using fixya.

I have a DPP-EX5 sony photo printer. Where can I

Go to 'system preferences', 'print and fax', click on your printer, click 'Options & Supplies', click 'Driver', click 'select printer software', and finally select 'Sony DPP-EX5 - Gutenprint v5.2.3'.

To get software for printers that were not installed during the Mac OS X installation process, choose Software Update from the Apple menu, allow it to complete the process of "Checking for new software," and then connect your printer or add it using the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences. If software for your printer is available through Software Update, you will see a prompt asking if you would like to download and install this software. If you do not have access to the internet, you can insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and use Optional Installs to install the printer software available from the DVD.

Printer compatibility drivers (CUPS, Gutenprint)
Some of the included drivers were developed through the Gutenprint and CUPS open source projects. You can identify these drivers by looking for "Gutenprint" or "CUPS Sample Driver" next to the model name. You might use one of these drivers if no Snow Leopard-ready driver is available from a printer's manufacturer. Please note that these compatibility drivers may not support all features of your printer, and the printer's manufacturer does not provide support for using these drivers.

If all else fails, you may want to contact Sony for a driver disc replacement:

Can I get windows 7

Install the drivers in XP or Vista compatibility mode.

Insert the setup disk in your CD/DVD drive. Choose to view the files in Explorer.

Scroll down to the file "Setup," which is identified as an application.

Right-click the file and select "Properties." Click the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the resulting window.

Check off "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose "Windows Vista" or "Windows XP Service Pack 3" from the pop-up menu.

ALSO check "Run this program as administrator" at the bottom of the window.

Press "Apply," then "OK."

Now you can double-click the "Setup" file and run the software installer.

Is a sony photo printer

No, many people seem to have a problem installing the driver for that printer on OSX. If you were considering purchasing this printer, opt for one with both Linux and OSX drivers available (Epson and Canon printers generally have excellent compatibility).

It only prints a 6x1"

Sony printers are masterpeices when it comes to digital printing as they produce wonderful quality images.
If you got a new printer and it does the same thing this indicates that the problem iis emanating from the software with which you use in editing the pictures before sending the print command. Somewhere along the line some adjustment must have been made to the software relating to the alignment of the picture on the printer. Once this adjustment is corrected your printer will print fine.
Printers are devices which prints what command was sent to them and do not have any intelligence to act or edit documents on their own accord.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
Happy new year
