Problem with the DPP-FP30 Thermal Photo Printer
Hello,
The print head on the printer is bad, you will need to contact the dealer to inform them to know how many print the printer can produce before it park off. once this known, it will help know if to replace the print head.
Take care.
It says wrong print paper.
Hi,
Thanks for giving Fixya the pleasure to solve your problem.
The reason of this problem is that the print paper and ink ribbon does not match.
Check the ink ribbon size actually loaded in the printer and select the print paper for the identical size.
For instructions on how to check the
ink ribbon size and
selecting the print paper, check out page 9 and 10 of this
link .
Good luck and have a nice day.

Need driver update for Windows 7 - 64 bit. Is there one?
The Sony Support site does not list a driver for either Vista or Windows 7 (neither 32 bit nor 64 bit). If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can install the XP mode and load the driver for this printer on to that virtual machine.
I hope this helps.

TROUBLE PRINTING
These are following cases for this symptom.
If the access indicator flashes in green:
The data size of the image is large and it takes longer to process it
for printing. Printing will start as soon as the data processing
finishes.
If the paper error indicator flashes on the LCD:
The paper is jammed. Turn off the printer and turn it on again, take
out the paper tray, and then remove the jammed paper from the paper
outlet. If you cannot remove the jammed paper, consult with your Sony
dealer or service facility.
If no indicator is lit or flashing:
The thermal head may be overheated. Leave the printer until the head cools down and the printer resumes printing.

the printer needs a proper servicing and dust cleaning done.as there is a sensor in the printer which detects whether there is paper ,or no paper in the paper tray ,that sensor is moved from its orignal position so this problem is coming.but servicing and cleaning will help.
thanks
Printing problem
you may have a faulty Thermal element, sounds like a cold spot in the middle of the print head is messing up your photo.
If this is in warranty or is new get them to replace it
