If you can get a windows CD either by buying new or second hand, you'll still need the Sony drivers for your laptop. You'll have to go to the Sony website follow links for support and downloads, you should get them there.
If you don't want to pay for a new operating system you could download Ubuntu. Is a free operating system. Just Google Ubuntu.

How to download sony vaio
Mr Felnuz, PCG-7G2l is the serial # and not the model #.
Model Numbers are usually located on a sticker located on the
back or bottom of the unit. They may also be listed on the product
manual.
You can also find the model # by clicking on start, select run, then type"msinfo32" in run.
Press enter, there you can see the system model.
Model # starts with initials VGN.
Once locating the model #.
Visit this website to download drivers.

Contact the re-seller that you purchased your computer from, and they'll probably tell you to contact the manufacturer to get the recovery disk.

HI,
I have a VGN-CR120E laptop.
It's possibly overheating. If so, you can clean the cooling fins on the heatsink, and/or sit the unit on a cooling "plate"; they usually have a USB plugin to power their fans.
