CUTOMER CARE - who would call someone who spams that?
Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. To be able to fix the issue you need to press FN + Numlock key of your keyboard. The numlock key is on that's why number appears instead of letters. Numlock key is next to F12 button.
Thanks for using Fixya.

If it hasn't booted since 2008, dennythedon3003 wants you to call from the computer cemetery.
Hello Mike:
Sometimes is the trouble here..but lets go through a few things to check...perhaps maybe one of mine someone else didn't think of...
1) remove the battery and unplug from the wall. Hold power button on...plug into power...let boot.
2) Perhpas it is software related...your MBR could be corrupt...boot to DOS (you can create a dos diskette from boot.com) or simply hit F8 to boot in DOS mode. at the C prompt type FDISK/mbr. This will not harm your data...it will rebuild your Masterboot record. There a few nasty viruses that hide in the MBR (Master Boot Record) running this ustility will wipe it out.
3) On the otherhand you could have a more serious problem...motherboard or CPU. TRoubleshooting this items in a laptop is a bit trickier than a desktop...you could purchase one of those troubleshooters for about 20 bucks...you plug intoLPT1 and USB...power laptop and read the lights.
Hope I have been soem help...
Good Luck my Friend
