At the back side of your dvd recorder, near the USB port, is the connector for connecting the external power supply (12Volts, 3.0Amp) that is included in the box.

Why? It has no serviceable parts. What is the problem

Just plug in the drive and burn away! Mac's do not require specific drivers or add-on software to read or burn disks. If there is a specific type of disk or media (Movie, Documents etc.) you want to burn let me know those specifics and I can let you know how to do it.

Download BurnAware free burner software. Run it. Select Data DVD. Insert a blank recordable DVD in your drive. Add the files you want to backup (photos, music files, documents, etc) and then click on the red Burn button. These files will be burned onto the DVD.

Try using BurnAware free CD/DVD burning software. You can select the files you want to backup and burn them as a data disk.Doing a full backup of a computer will copy all applications and data and will consume many DVDs. All you really need to copy is your data, such as your photo folder, music folder, email folder, etc.

Probably has a small hole on the door of it. Stick a paperclip in that hole push in firmly. If the power is on it should eject the disk.

are you having problems with your dvd or installation of windows ??Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose DeleteAfter deleting the keys, close the registry editorReboot your computerOpen My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
