you cant burn a disk with a dvd rom
you will need both a dvd rw unit and a dvd rw disk to burn any video to a disk if you have both of these the burning program might not support video burning or you might not have selected the right option there are lots of free burning software programs that can burn videos to a disk you might have to burn it as an ISO image

Try cleaning the head with a burst of clean air from a compressor. Be careful not use air with oil or water mixed into it. Sometimes, with the mere blowing of air from your mouth would clean the lens.

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver you might have physicall unplug the dvd drive from your computer restart the plug it back in this should activate the found new hardware wizard hope it helps

I think there might be a problem with ur DVD rom, because it might have got scratches on it, i recommend it to wipe the DVD with a soft cloth very smoothly, along the discs rings.. and try again...

If this doesnot solve the problem, there might be a problem with the DVD Drive u r using, the lens might be a problem, try this use lens cleaner and clean the lens of the disc try to change the dvd drive.. and try again..

I use this free progarm on my computer and it works great.

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

Then just click on the DOWNLOAD NOW (19.42 MB) button that you see on the left hand side of the page.

Then follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the program. Be sure to click on the yellow security bar at top of the page if necessary to ALLOW DOWNLOAD.
However, if you want to actually BURN videos onto recordable DVDs, then you are going to have to go out and buy a bit of new hardware.

The ROM part in DVD ROM stands for READ ONLY MEMORY. That means your disk drive can only READ DVD disks, it is unable to BURN (record) onto disks. For that you will have to go out and buy a DVD RW disk drive. They look exactly the same as yours, but are a few bucks more, and they have the extra capability of burning files onto blank recordable DVD disks (DVD-Rs).

Hi, Thanks for using fixya.

First try right click on the cdrom choose eject. If that doesn't work There is a small hole by the eject button take a paper clip straighten it out stick one end in the hole make sure the clip goes straight into the hole there is a release latch that will open the door.If the cd is jamed you might have to give it a little help with your finger nail.

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.
try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive

It is problem with firmware of the drive...try upgrading the firmware

check the communication cable are inserted or not, you can see it to open the cpu cover and look for the same, there are two cables are inserted in dvd/cd rom first for the power and second for data. if you find all the things are ok you can check it from your BIOS settings.

Your computer is missing a DVD decoder software. Simply download and install VLC media player and K-Lite codec. Both are free download. You will find the download link by simply doing a google search.

regions are fixed try looking for dvd region chager and keep that one
