You have to get the remote and transceiver to talk to each other. Remove all the batteries and wait a couple of minutes
before replaceing them. Place the transceiver in the REMOTE

press the MODE button on the remote control. A change in the
beep tone will be heard and you have MARRIED the two devices. Should solve the problem.
Remote won't work unless next to fireplace.
There are some adjustments that can be made to improve the reception of the
Skytech 3301 Fireplace Remote. Sometimes the RF reception can be diminished if the receiver is in an enclosed metal surround such as a heat shield. The link above will bring you to the product page where you can scroll down and download the full owner's manual. An excerpt from the manual in regards to adjusting the reception is below:"RECEIVER ADJUSTMENT - RECOMMENDED ADJUSTMENT NOTE: The slide button, Gray or Black, covers the ADJ access hole when installed. A. To adjust at the receiver, use a small slotted screwdriver. Turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise about 5 degrees or a maximum of 1/8 turn. This should correct the distance problem. B. If that does not correct the problem, return adjustment screw to original position and then turn adjustment screw clockwise. This adjustment is like tuning your radio. If you keep turning the adjustment screw, in either direction, you will go past the proper setting (tuning)."
No learn button
It's there, but you may have to remove the large slide switch to see it. The slide switch just pulls off. The learn button is on the right side if the face of the remote box, under the ON side of the slide switch. Make sure you place in the smaller slide switch in the REMOTE Position, before attempting to get it to learn a new code. Remember, you must push the Learn Button (use a small screwdriver or ball point pin refill) to push down on the learn button0 and press the ON button on the hand-held remote at the same time. Listen for a beep(s) and let off of both buttons after the beep(s) stop.
Skytech-3001 Thermo won't work
I am having some trouble! Mine became unconnected and I don't know how to reconnect. There is two wire, red and white, a box that sits inside the fireplace that has an on/off sitch and a box that sits outside the fireplace with a off/remore/on switch. How do I connect it back? Please help!
How do i turn off the fan?
Normally, the fan is controlled by a temperature sensor located in the control compartment under the fireplace. If I remember correctly, the sensor activates at 110 degrees F. There should also be a speed control rheostat located above the valve. It will adjust the speed of the fan or you can turn it completely off. If the fan was running when the burner shut off, it will continue to run until the sensor cools to 110 degrees F or you can simply turn the rheostat to off. The Smart Stats dont control the fan unless you have the upgraded Smart Stat HNG. The upgraded version will have a button on the handheld remote that reads "Fan". If that button does not control your fan, you will need to call a service tech to check the wiring. The function could have been missed when it was installed.
Connect wires properly
Yes, you SHOULD connect all the wires properly.
Your should also ASK YOUR QUESTION PROPERLY!
Come on, man. Get with it.
You are asking how to connect wires to a remote control?
Someone dropped you on your head as a child, yes?
Fireplace? Don't play with fire.
My remote won't control the
Normally, it comes programed. Before trying to reprogram it ...First, be sure you have the leads from the black receiver box connected to the proper terminals on the control valve of your gas fireplace. Secondly, be sure ALL the batteries are installed properly (i.e. facing the right direction). Do you get a beep when you press the Mode button on the hand held remote? If you do, the problem is some where else.
If you gas fireplace has a rocker switch in the control compartment that was used to turn the burner on and off ... Is it a 2 position switch or a 3 position switch? If it's a 2 position switch, be sure it's in the ON position. If it's a 3 position switch, it should be in the middle position. Is the gas control valve knob turned from Pilot to the ON position? Is your Pilot Light burning? It has to be for the remote control to work.
To test the whether or not the remote is connected properly, push the slide switch on the front of the black receiver box to the ON position. If you pilot is burning and the control knob for the burner is in the ON position, the burner should then light. If it doesn't then I suspect the wiring from the black receiver box to the control valve is not connected to the proper terminals. Or a rocker switch is in the wrong position. I have a Skytech 1001
Rhonda, if you have the On/Off/Flame Height Remote Control ... from what you have described (it's working in reverse) someone has wired it backwards to the control valve. With this particular remote, there is a positive and a negative. Reverse the wires that are connected to the gas control valve (at the control valve. Not on the Black Remote Box) and everything should be fine. If you need more help contact Skytech Technical Service @ 888-672-8929 Monday - Friday. They are great people to work with.
