It is a Power Adapter that delivers 12 volts to run the HD Motor the same as if it was in a computer. These things come formatted for PCs--you have to go into Utilities on your mac (in hard drive click on Applications, Utilities folder, then Disk Utility, then click on the simpletech (that has the gb next to it), click on the drop down to change the format (MS-DOS if you want to read on both PCs and MAC, but MAC-OS for just Macs) re-name it on the drop down below that, then click on erase and then it's re-formatted.

You may use data recovery software to see if you can rescue the files. It may unable to recover all the files, but at least most of them.

Open the drive and see whats burns, if the case circut is burnt put the driv in a new case. the the harddrive is burnt your out of luck.

This error mostly comes when the bkf file is corrupt, BKF file may gets corrupted due to virus attack or interruption during backup process. You can repair your corrupt or damaged bkf file with the help of bkf repair tool. Download a good bkf repair tool from http://www.restorebkf.org/

welcome to USA, we use our own adapters here, 120vac and special plug AC side. where do you live country.? simpletech 320GB BOM No: 96200-41001-05 they sell them on ebay, why not look there and buy it. output 12vdc 0.4 amps or MORE. center pin must be + output end. any pack 12vdc like above works, over 0.4amps. and AC end correct and if you have 240vac make sure the pack does that too.

Yes, but you will most likely need an adapter to adapt the 2.5" drive to a 3.5" drive slot. Additionally, if you wish to keep it as an external drive and suspect/confirm it is the enclosure that is causing the problem, you can purchase 2.5" drive enclosures pretty cheaply.

cords are just copper connectors covered by plastic insulation the bits that count are what is on the ends so if the end connections are the same , it will work
