Most likely the power supply board needs to be replaced. If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED! If you have replaced the batteries and not have put them in backwards, look at the remote thru your cell phone camera. Press any button on the remote. If it is working at all you'll see the led flashing . If you see this and it's working, then the infra red receiver in the TV isn't working.
