its probily the cord in side the printer its probirtry come out of its hole or something.

I don't know the answer but I am having the same problem with my Sharp AL-1451.. Can any one help?

It is the fuser, but sometimes it is just a false code. to reset enter buttons clr, exposure, clr, exposure, the display will blank, enter 14, press prnt button, then clr several times to get out and thats it. Try to press #, Interrupt, C, Interrupt in that order and enter 14 then press copy key.

It's going to be the fusing unit that needs to be replaced. It's also a good idea to replace the gear in the machine that drives the fuser at the same time. Both are available here: http://olsonbros.com/sharp/specs/al1655cs.html

Hi you have not said the toner type you replaced with though that will give not completely black copy. The problem may have been the drum unit installation. Make sure the charge unit over the drum service is present ie the one with a mesh wire like grid. If present, clean it or wipe with a soft clean and dry cloth. Clean the saw-tooth like metal plate inside that unit by slow blowing and make sure no toner particles are there. Finally screw the unit properly on the drum unit and your problem is solved.

Well to do a reset , you don't need to open anywhere but it depends on what reset. To open the scanner glass, just lift the platen cover up and you will see right and left screws , unscrew them and remove the glass and wipe inside.
