Have lost suction on my shark rocket HV321 what do I check
1. A common place where loss of suction can happen is on the floor nozzle hose. At the base of the vacuum cleaner is a short hose about 6".
The hose will tear where it bends back and forth. You can find a replacement hose but to install it is difficult.
2. On the neck of the handle is a suction release window (valve). It is used to reduce suction power to vacuum curtains or clothes etc. The valve will often turn on accident and stay open reducing suction power. When the valve is opened, pushing and pulling the sweeper is easier.
3. The filters maybe dirty and clogged. Check ALL the filters. Some Sharks have 3 filters including HEPA. Shark HEPA filter are made of fiberglass therefore can be washed with the others.
4. Check for clogs anywhere dirt can travel until it reaches the dirt cup.
The brush roll works for a second than red light goes on and it stops. No obstructions to stop the rotation
First make sure that there is no threads wrapped around the roller brush at each end. Next place a couple drops of motor oil in the crack at each end of the roller brush to lubricate the bearings. Do not over oil or you will get oil on your carpet. Now try starting the vacuum on the kitchen floor.. If it still shuts off, then the motor windings are shorted out, meaning the motor is defective and needs replaced. If the vacuum cleaner costs about $ 100.00 , you would be better off buying a brand new vacuum cleaner, rather than replacing the motor.
Why will Power switch will not stay on?
The power switch cold be broken and not working.Check to see if the filter is clogged and check for a clogged hose or filter and unclog the hose and replace the filter.
