What is the wheel circumference of older 1988 AirDyne to use for bike computer to replace Schwinn ergometer?

The wheel circumference of a 1988 Schwinn AirDyne exercise bike may vary depending on the specific model and tire size. To determine the wheel circumference for your bike computer, you'll need to measure it directly. Here's how you can do it:
  1. Measure the Tire Diameter: Lift the front wheel of the bike off the ground so it's freely spinning. Use a tape measure to measure the diameter of the tire from one side to the other. Make sure you measure the actual tire, not the rim.
  2. Calculate the Circumference: Once you have the diameter in millimeters, you can calculate the circumference using the formula: Circumference (mm) = ? (pi) x Diameter (mm).
    • You can approximate ? as 3.14 for simplicity.
  3. Convert to Centimeters or Meters: To make it more compatible with most bike computers, you might want to convert the circumference from millimeters to centimeters or meters.

I just bought an old Schwinn stationary exercise bike. I'm 4'11. So it's very hard for me to reach. I bought pedal extenders but they keep flipping. Seat is as low as it can go. Any ideas?

That's a tough one Gina. I see a few alternatives, some jokey, some serious. Buy a real bike that fits you and cycle the parks and streets. wear a helmet, have good lights. Buy a real bike that fits and an indoor attachment that turns it into a an exercise bike. Like this
  1. Positioning Your Stationary Bike Stand. Find a spot in your home where you have enough space for your bike as well as enough space to mount the bike. ...
  2. Installing the Bike. Situate the back end of the bicycle on the stand first. ...
  3. Check Your Work.

Or you could buy a new seat that is physically lower to the seat post. Or take the bike to a fabrication shop and have them cut 5" out of the seat frame stem and re-weld it.

Load indicator and odometer and

Same here. Can't find the part online. Local Schwinn dealer said they haven't made that part in at least 10 years. I put on a regular bicycle Cateye odometer. At least I have a measure, although it does feel like it agrees with the Schwinn odometer, even when I set the wheel size to just 100 cm I think it is still ~20% high.

Where would I find the flasher relay on a 2008 Schwinn Laguna 50 scooter? I cant seem to find any diagrams anywhere. Help. :

Greetings, Since this deals with the light/turn signal, it sounds like you would need to unscrew that portion of your scooter and the relay should be present there. You can use an image from ebay to help you identify it once you've unscrewed the covering for your flasher/blinker. Thank you.

Error 3 (E3) on Schwinn 240 recumbent bike. How

No speed/RPM reading, Console displays "E3" error code
Check data cable integrity All wires in cable should be intact. If any are cut or crimped, replace cable.
Check data cable connections/orientation, insure cable is connected securely and oriented properly. Small latch on connector should line up and snap into place.
Check magnet position (requires shroud removal) Magnet should be in place on flywheel. If no magnet is present, replace the flywheel or the entire base unit (if unable to replace flywheel).
Check RPM Sensor (requires shroud removal) RPM sensor should be aligned with magnet and connected to data cable. Realign sensor if necessary ( 1/8" clearance between sensor and flywheel) if still error 3 then check the sensor with a multi meter unplug sensor leads attach meter to sensor connectors. Have someone by hand rotate the pedal while you observe the multi meter opening and closing the internal sensor circuit if no change in meter readings then replace the sensor.

My Airdyne AD-6 crank arms are ~45* apart, not 180* Can they be adjusted?

It is possible that the crank arms are not seated correctly on the bottom bracket spindle, causing them to be misaligned. Try removing the crank arms and re-installing them, making sure that they are properly aligned with each other and with the bottom bracket spindle. If that doesn't work, there may be an issue with the bottom bracket itself, in which case it may need to be replaced. You can also check the manual for your Airdyne AD-6 to see if there are any specific instructions for adjusting the crank arms.

Schwinn elliptical 411. which wires go to the power inlet contacts.

It's important to ensure that you connect the pink and purple wires correctly to the power inlet contacts on your Schwinn Elliptical 411. Here is how you can determine which wires go to the contacts:
  1. Look for markings on the power inlet and wires: The power inlet may have markings or labels indicating which wire goes to which contact. The pink and purple wires may also have some markings or labels on them.
  2. Check the user manual: The user manual for the Schwinn Elliptical 411 may have a wiring diagram that shows the correct connections for the power inlet and wires.
  3. Use a multimeter: If you are not able to determine the correct connections using the first two methods, you can use a multimeter to test the wires. Set the multimeter to measure resistance and touch the probes to the ends of the pink and purple wires. If the multimeter reading is close to zero, it means the wires are connected correctly. If the reading is very high or infinity, it means the wires are not connected correctly.
Once you have determined which wire goes to which contact, you can solder them together to reattach the power inlet. Make sure the solder joints are strong and secure, and use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape to insulate the connections.
