Question edited for clarity and toss in some CAPS. How to Reset a Sanyo Projector Lamp Timer?

1. Turn on the projector
2. Press the Menu button and the on-screen menu will appear
3. Press 3/4 button to remove the red frame pointer to the setting Menu icon
4. Press the 6 button to move the red frame pointer to the Lamp Counter Reset item and then press Select button
5. The message "lamp replace counter reset?" appears. Move the point to and then press Select button
6. Another confirmation dialog box appears and select to reset the Lamp Replace Counter

To download drivers for the Sanyo XU 101 projector, you will need to visit the Sanyo support website. Here are the steps:

1. Go to the Sanyo support website by typing "Sanyo support" into your search engine and clicking on the first link.

If your Sanyo DP42481 picture is upside down and mirrored, you can try adjusting the settings on the TV. I have a possible solution however it may not be THE solution your after, you'll probably be able to tell very quickly if it isn't, this will only apply if you are using either a component video signal or a PC/laptop signal to send to the projector.

If you are using a laptop or desktop to hook up your projector, I would try first of all double checking that it's correctly plugged in, and if you still have no luck try a different cable.
It's likely to be the cable because when the signal goes down the cable it's split into 5 different signals. 3 of these are the colour information for Red, Green and Blue. Depending on what you mean by 'image is blue', it could mean that your either not getting the information for Red, or your not getting the information for Red AND Green. If you want to test this, open up microsoft paint while connected to the projector and create 3 boxes, then fill 1 completely red, 1 completely green and one completely blue. If you are missing the information to any of these colours then that colour will appear black on the projector screen.

In component video the signal is split down 3 cables (rather than 5) and 2 are colours (rather than 3)... Red and Blue. Check that the cable running red (Usually labelled Pr on the DVD and projector) is completely plugged in (some of these are really tight, but it's important that it goes all the way) and also that you have plugged into the correct slot, for instance that you have plugged into Pr and not the right Audio channel, both of which are coloured red.

If you are still not having any luck then I would suggest using a computer monitor or a television (depending on what type of signal your sending it) to test the projector. Plug it in instead of the projector and if it works then the issue lies with the projector and I have at least narrowed it down for you.

I own a Sanyo PLC-XU305 Projector, the colours are not good, I tried to fix them but nothing, the red is not red but a lot diferent, what do I have to do to fix the problem?? thanks a lot

Being an old projector and possibly it has an old lamp fitted. The lamp as it ages produces more heat. The fans as they age unless cleaned regularly. This build up of heat damages firstly the blue LCD imager and then the red. Nothing can be done about that except replace the LCD imagers. As a Sanyo Authorised service department, we used to charge them out at £1031 plus fitting.

Switching of Projector within few seconds ??!! I had the same problem. There is an internal reset button just above the lamp that needs to be reset. You have to take the cover off, which would void your warrantee, but it's quite easy. My lamp only had 660 hrs, and I bought a new one too. So now I have an extra. My guess is that my filter was getting clogged causing an overheating situation and tripping this reset button which I'm guessing is a heat sensor.

Your print head is defective. Not worth fixing
