Hire a tech it will be cheaper and safer. You may have a capacitor that is bad and not starting the compressor.

Have you checked if the Freon level is still ok? Freon is a CFC responsible for the coldness that airconditions give out. For frequent users the level drops down causing the aircondition not to give out the expected performance.
If you can check the condenser coils you should notice ice forming around it which should indicate a good amount but if there's thin ice or none at all it means that the Freon level is not good and it needs to be refilled.
Or you can ask a local Aircon tech guy to check the freon level and if he finds a fault then he can refill it immediately.

When a/c is turned on the fan in the unit inside always stays on. There is a fan ; long tube that should be removed once a year and washed and cleaned.I watched an air tech. do this one time and learned to do it myself. This tube is not too dificult to remove takes at least one hour and a half . It would save quite an amount of money in the long run. JMC

If Sanyo cant supply one, try any Air con parts store or electronics store. There are universal air con remotes on sale that you programme in to suit your make / model.
