Audiobook setting

Instead of dragging the audiobooks to the "music" folder, drag them to the "audible" folder - this player only gives full functionality for audiobooks if you are using the Audible audiobook svc. Otherwise it will play the audiobook as one long mp3 file swithout proper chapter breaks, etc.

Sansa clip files are write protected, can't delete songs

This seems to be the problem of most of us these days and some of our readers who wanted to know the methods how they can remove the Write Protected error from their USB drives like Pen Drives and memory cards.

What is Write Protected error and why it happens?
In the Write Protected error, we can’t write or copy any data in our flash drives and even can’t format the drive.
There are many reasons that cause this problem, let’s see solutions of them.
Solutions:
• First of all try to locate a small switch (if any, that you may have not noticed) at some place on the drive or memory card reader. This is the prime reason for this error. If there is one, switch it to the other side to turn the protection off.
• Yes I know this problem is also occurring these days without this switch but not to worry. Just download this helpful software form here

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HDD-Low-Level-Format-Tool.shtml

and run it to execute a “low-level format” on the drive. This software is quite handy and may take few attempts to actually remove the error.
• The problem can also be caused by some virus activity so just get it scanned by some updated good anti virus which may solve your problem.
• BUT if none of the methods listed above solves your problem then your pen drive might have gone corrupted, so just get it replaced.
Hope any of the methods listed above solves your problem.
Update 1:
After the low level format, you may need to “Partition the drive“. Dont worry, partitioning a pen drive means allocating it its File System and Cluster Size that was lost after the Low Level Format.
For that:
  1. Run diskmgmt.msc in Run.
  2. In the disk management window, select the pen drive, right click on it and click on Format.
  3. Now choose the File System and Allocation Unit Size and do not check the boxes below.

Click OK and the drive will be reusable after this.
Update 2 (Better Solution):
Follow the steps in this post and just put the value 0 (zero) in step 5.
This will surely solve your problem now.

Where can I buy a battery for my MP3 Player?

generally we need a 3.7v battery in this player which is also used for the classic cellophones. One should try it from India or China where the classic cellphones are still in market. The battery will cost less than 4$ bt the cost of courier or postage will approx 30$ internationally. I will try if u can send me the actual image of the existing battery in case if u want to replace it. I will find the model of the cellphone and then u can buy ur batery from any online shopping website. Check for the battery model number and voltage & amp. I m a banker and have many contacts with cellphone and accessories distributors. u can write me back.. [email protected] else try on any of shopping site. i will wait...

How can I download music I purchased from iTunes?

Try the following program first, on the following link, if that fails to work for you, then try the second option I have provided. Let me know how this works out and if you need anything else.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ipod_itunes/sansadevicesyncwithitunes.html
2. Basically, when you buy music from iTunes, it comes with a copyright protection called DRM. These DRM-protected songs are locked so that they only work with Apple MP3 players. That means that if you bought a Microsoft Zune, you cannot use iTunes music.

So, what is the solution? You have to burn a CD. When you do this, the DRM is removed (because the music is converted to a non-DRM-compatible media). After you burn the CD, you can rip it to your PC as an MP3 file which no longer has DRM.

Alternatively, you can use TuneClone ( http://www.tuneclone.com/ ). TuneClone makes a virtual CD-ROM drive, tricking your PC into believing that you are burning a CD. Therefore, the DRM is removed without wasting a CD.

Here is a link to a tutorial using TuneClone and iTunes 8:

Sansa e250 cracked screen

I've tried to get a replacement LCD for my SANSA, impossible so far.

There are some PARTS/REPAIR SANSA's on ebay, but must of them with the same problem. There was also a working LCD, I just fail on bidding.

If you can get a working LCD, the replacement is possible with a blower, directing heat to the specifyc connectors area, you can remove the broken one while the glue (some kind of silicon) is warm and flexible, you have to be careful when putting the new one, pins must be aligned, also you should do that whith both (broken and wkring) at the same time, so then you can use the glue still on the pins (golden connectors) area.

I got to remove the broken one and noticed (with my fingers) that the silicon can be used again, but since I didn't use a blower some of the pins (connectors) where damaged. Only halve of the process is confirmed.

Good luck, we'll wait 4 your results if you get a working LCD somewhere..

"Unknown" listed in spots for songs in player's list of all songs

You need to fix the id3 tags of songs. Just follow below steps to do that. ID3 is a metadata container most used on audio format, which provides audio data standard for music files, including Title, Artist, Year, Genre and other great information. And all ID3 tags are supported by most player software, like iTunes, and Windows Media Player. On Windows 10, music files have included metadata information like song name, artist name, or genre, but there will be times when this data may show up wrong or appear missing for a song or an entire album. To add tags to wav files, you can try Windows File Explorer. 1.Open the Windows File Explorer in your computer. (Windows key + E). 2.Browse the folder of the songs you want to add tags to wav files. 3.Right-click of the song, and then select "Properties". 4.Click to check the "Details" tab. It is well noted that all the details you see in the "Details" tab is part of the metadata information, and you can set wav ID3 tags by clicking the value field next to the property. 5.After updating the metadata information you like, click " Apply" and then "OK" button. With Windows File Explorer, it will also improve your file search function and you do not have to set it to icon or details mode in order to change the sort settings and then switch it back to preview mode. check-the- For more methods, check: Best 4 Methods: How to Edit Wav Tags

6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer, you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.

Download music

Music is stored on your computer (or on the Internet) as .mp3 files. You can rip (convert) them from your own CDs or find them online for sale (like at Amazon) or as free songs (Google "mp3 blog".

Here are videos showing you how to get the music on the player. Look at No. 5 and 6.

The Sansa plays other files as well as .mp3, but start with .mp3, the most popular and least complicated kind of music file.

My shaker does not play all of the loaded songs.

I had the same problem. The songs that won't play are probably MP4 files and the shaker only plays MP3 files. You need to change the file format of the songs on the shaker to MP3 files. I downloaded "Media Coder" which was free and it converted all the songs on the shaker that wouldn't play to MP3 files and they play now. Google "Media Coder" and download the free program, it is very easy to use. I had the songs converted in about 2 minutes. Make sure the shaker is plugged into computer so that you can choose the files on the shaker to convert. Hope this helps.

It will play for about three days then it says DRM

If you don't have DRM license for your music, it's because you haven't synced your player with the program on your computer in a while.
DRM is on your music because you most likely use a subscription service such as Napster or Rhapsody for your music.
Just plug your player into your computer and sync your device for the DRM license to refresh.

Drm installation issues

DRM-protected WMA files are going to give you this problem, depending on where you got them from - it is not a defect with the player itself (a limitation, perhaps). For instance, Spiral Frog downloads will not be usable on this player. Nor will songs that do not have transfer rights.

Your best bet is to get songs that are in mp3 format - they will not give you any DRM issues.
