You have lost all the data as it is. Unfortunately, you may have pulled the cruzer from the usb port by hand without using the EJECT Format. You should always EJECT a USB Dongle first to avoid STATIC Charge. Static erases the formatted device and washes away all data. In the Winter this condition is more active than when humidity is high. In many cases, the drive can not be formatted again.

Perhaps you are trying force the sandisk into the usb port backwards? Do a proper alignment and slid it into the USB port, make certain the small plastic portion within the cruzer is aligned with open slot on the pc USB port. There is no way for this NOT to work?
