That can happen for two reasons. The CDs are copies, CD-R or CD-RW and it can't read the format. Or, if there is copyright software in the unit, which was developed by Sony, it recognizes pirated discs and blocks them from play. Optical fiber connectors need to be clean in order to work properly, they need some special cleaning tools, you have to ask for them at the electronic store, normally you should avoid disconnecting and reconnecting fiber optic connectors a lot.

The display screen is broken and does not work anymore and has quit working on your Samsung surround sound player. You could always repair the display screen.

I removed all the screws out the back and took the outer shell off. Be careful removing the outer shell because of the wire connecting the touch pad to the system. Once off, unplug the fan unit and completely remove it. I let the system stay in this condition for around an hour. I returned to it and blew off all the dust on the fan (extremely small amount of dust for two years of use). I plugged the fan back into the system and reinstalled it to it's original position. Replace the outer shell back to the system and reinstall the screws (be careful not to put too much torque on the screws). I have had no more issues with my fan since and it's been two weeks. The sound bar and the subwoofer could of had quit working and and no longer works anymore. You will have to by a new soundbar and see if it can work.

The fan is going bad and when u play dvd's the spining of the cd is acting as a fan witch is why they play longer then any other mode i had the same problem 2 times the second time samsung wanted 160$!!! thats bull because it keeps going out so what u do is open the case and remove the cover over all the capaciters and whatnot and replace that fan in the back then cut a hole in the top of the metal case directly about the cap's that warm up and install a aditional fan to act as a chimney a little noisy but i did this and the player had been runing in aux and radio mode for a few days stright now no problems at all it's alot of work and skill but for 2 5-15 dolar fans sure beats the 160 for repair or buying a new recever!
