put another monitor on your computer first so you can see to get on the internet . ..then go to the samsung site and download the drivers for your samsung model and install them into your computer. ...after you install the new drivers then put your samsung back on and your computer should read your monitor then and work

You do not need to install any driver to use this monitor. The operating system has built-in drivers for this monitor

This problem often occurs in samsung SyncMaster LCD monitors.

The solution is open your look for the LCD monitor power supply module (which have PCB connector to the AC power), on that board look for capacitors, now look for broken one which upper part is bloated, like the image below:

If you find a damaged capacitor as in the picture then you should replace it with the same value.

replace capacitors 1000mf/25v 470mf/25v...

I have to send mine back to Samsung because of the same problem. Samsung is now like Toyota not disclosing know problems.

5 year old hyjacker, vinay. you forgot to say connected to what? is the screen only dim or dead.? even more important clue. Try using a different HDMI cable. If issue persists, try using the DVI port and a DVI cable. If not then try removing your video card and just use the on-board video option of your PC. If issue persists, try a different monitor.

Please check for the graphic driver for your desktop also try to install monitor driver for the same model, not a big problem. it can be fixed.

I looked up your monitor and that resolution is not supported. Which means auto adjustment will not work. The video card will compensates for that, and resizes the picture for a display resolution that shows the picture anyway, (if it can) but isn't what you wanted. Your best bet is to use resolutions that are compatible, or get a (different) monitor.
