3.Close the battery compartment.
4. Select kg, st or lb weight mode by the switch on the
underside of the scale.
5.For use on carpet attach enclosed carpet feet.
6.Position scale on a firm flat surface. next......
INITIALISING YOUR SCALE
1. Press the platform centre and remove your foot.
2.'0.0' will be displayed.
3.The scale will switch off and is now ready for use.
This initialisation process MUST be repeated if the scale is moved. ie battery replacement.
Our salter 3 in one snack maker has stopped working after a strong electrical smell. Any ideas?
You have some burnt out wiring in it. Don't try to use it because of the risk of fire or electric shock.
If under warranty just exchange it. Otherwise get a quote for repair from a technician, and you may find it economic to simply buy a new one, because of the cost of labour and parts.
Where I am repair would be a minimum of about $100 plus parts, which is a shame because of the growing pile of discarded electrical items.
Model 9114 salter scale shows Lo. I have changed the batteries but it still only shows Lo.
I had the same problem and, suspecting that the metal contacts weren't making proper contact with the batteries, I used a long nosed pliers to gently bend all ten contacts towards to the batteries (there are eight small tabs in the battery compartment, and two on the battery cover). If you don't have a long nosed pliers a small screwdriver should do it if you held the fixed part of each set of contacts so it doesn't detach during the process.
Unfortunately, it worked, but only for one weigh, and then it reverted to "Lo". This happened twice, so I telephoned the Salter Customer Service Helpline (01732 360783) who recommended a reset, which is done by removing the batteries, standing on the scale for 20 seconds, and replacing the batteries. That also only worked for one weigh, so they are looking into it further and I'll post the results here, but in the meantime I hope one of the above solutions will work for others.
My Salter Model 2001 kitchen scale, shows an 'ee' on the screen. This error code is not listed in the manual. Any suggestions?
"EE" means that the scale has been overloaded. Try placing a small weight (i.e. 250g block of butter) on the scale and then turning the scale off and then on again with the small weight still on the scale. What this does is to try and re-calibrate the scale. If this doesn't work then I am pretty certain that the scales will need to be replaced. The scales in question do have a 15 year guarantee and you can try contacting Salter Housewares directly if you have your proof of purchase.https://www.pricescompare.co.uk/q&a/ee-showing-on-screen.html
