Lousy foam!

Perform a full descale cycle to clear the steam boiler of any debris or build up. Most likely due to blockage.

How to reset to manufacture setting a royal professional Saeco machine

If the pump does not come on when you request water through the steam wand, then the pump is either ready to go out, or you have a blockage in one of the solenoids in the water circuit. Most likely, the milk frothing attachment that uses a solenoid to activate it, is blocked by calcium build up. The only way to solve this issue, is to open the machine up, and start at the water inlet and work your way back to the front of the machine. Top left side has a solenoid that is most likely blocked. May need to locate an authorized service center.

I have a saeco royal coffee machine. The display screen is very hard to read,

Display screen will need to be replaced, since this is a rather old machine, they may not be able to get new display screens, but you can find them on Ebay. The computer is a multi layered style, power board, CPU, then display screen held in with 16 pins.

Double Shots quit working

First, I'm NOT a Saeco technician, But I have worked on similar machines. Sounds like your pulling too large a puck (doing a double shot with a lot of coffee instead of pulling two separate shots.) * Grounds may be too large and taking up too much space for the group to compress properlly. Suggest checking you grinder calibration. There is a you tube link below. Aloha, ukeboy57 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M5WmOYzTAU

I just cleaned our the brew group of my Saeco Vienna Plus and I unscrewed the screen and cleaned it also. Now when I brew, I am getting a puddle of water in my grounds bin along with the grounds puc

First, I'm NOT a Saeco technician, But I have worked on similar machines. It's odd that you had to clean the screen of the machine though I'm not sure it this is a recommended procedure as these home "super automatic" are a ROBOT espresso maker. Yes on large espresso machines the group screen is easily removed for daily or at minimal weekly cleaning. There is a screw in the center which is easily removed and screen is brushed till clear of grounds. * I'm surprised that you can access this screen. But since you have already done so then I guessing you disassembled the piston assembly (the part that squeezes the grounds to form the puck. * Okay, The group usually has a number of gaskets (or O-rings) and I can see from the "Gasket Set" https://www.bing.com/shop?q=+Saeco+Vienna+Plus&FORM=SHOPPA&originIGUID=202322DD03D24C3DBC248AAE69EBE4D6 There are quite a few gaskets. Now since these are available on line I'm guessing they have been made available to those willing to replace them. So maybe your okay. * I suspect one or more of the gaskets are not sitting just right to make a proper seal. It's either broken or not in place. Thus the group leaks and water is probably leaking past the piston and leaks on puck after it dumps. * There is another possible problem (watery pucks) is that the piston is not compressing the coffee into a proper puck. It needs to squeeze the grounds down to restrict and slow down the hot water giving it enough time to extract the coffee essence from the grounds. If your getting weak coffee and watery, loose pucks then it's the piston. This could be caused by a misplaced compression spring or that loose gasket getting in the way. * I would normally suggest you calling for service. But Since you have already taken this unit apart (and I Don't know about the warranty) You may have to carefully work your way backwards on what you did to see if anything is missing or loose. Go all the way back to where you think was the end and look around. Put it all back together and try again. * Okay NOW I remember this machine! It's on youtube BUT I'm cringing as I watch it! Really don't like this machine (Sorry) I had 15 come into the shop and only got 3 to work. Way too many sensors and safeties. I still got an old one in the garage that worked for a month then stopped for no reason. Okay here is the link Good luck! Aloha, ukeboy57 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGIK-lc__dw

Not filling cup

First, I'm not a Talea technician. But I've worked on similar machines. * The air that comes out in the end may be normal for your machine as most of these small home units will "air flush" the coffee grounds to get every last bit of the brew out. This also helps keep the unit clear of old coffee liquids. * pour pour, shot, puck, etc. are signs of an improperly prepared espresso. This can be caused by many things but since this is an robotic machine that performs the same time and time again then lets assume for now that the machine is working properly. If the machine is at fault then it will require service from your vendor or directly from the MFR. * Did you change beans? Poor quality beans are usually easy to spot; Lighter color beans, Multi-color, very oily (shiny ok but not dripping like butter), flavored beans (poor quality bean with flavor added). All automatic espresso or cappuccino machines are expected to have Espresso roast with French roast or at least a Dark roast as the basis for any coffee beverage. Lesser roasts; regular, mild, house roast tend to make a poor cup. Clean out all old coffee and replace with a high quality ESPRESSO roast coffee (Lavazza is a good example) Run machine through 3 or more cycles to flush out old beans and oils. It may take 10 or more cycles so be patient. * Did you change water source? Since this is a table top machine in which you fill the water tank. Try to use filtered (bottled ok) water. Do Not use Distilled or 100% pure water as this type of water will eat out the metals from your machine! Some places use a water softener as it tends to be better for the machine long term (years). * Finally; Beans and Water are the two things you can control. If your still having problems then lets look at the machine: Can you reset it to original factory settings? Do so and check results. If it's okay then SLOWLY make your changes one at a time till you get the best result or stop if it gets worst. Note: once set to your liking then DON'T change beans or water as it will change everything. (even a batch of beans can be bad. Stay with a reputable coffee roaster!) * Still got problems? Check with vendor or MFR for service or replacement. Most machines of this type do not have serviceable parts or adjustments. Aloha, ukeboy57

Fill water tank

First, I'm not a Saeco technician. But I've worked on similar Saeco machines. - Water not getting to machine or not sensing that the water tank is already filled. * There usually some type of float near to middle of the water tank. It's usually white or colored plastic. This 'float' needs to move freely up-down to 'sense' the filled tank. clean the tank and shake it -note the movement of this float. It will need further cleaning if it's stuck (or you will have to replace tank if it's crudded up). * Re-install tank and fill with filtered water. Turn machine off, count to 15 then turn on again. This usually turns on pump to add water to inner tank. If this does not happen then there is a CPU problem. If it does hums for 5-10 seconds then goes off but no heating then the pump may have an air bubble in line. Try the turn off and on method several times (up to 5) to get the water flowing. If it's still not working then there is a clog in the pump and will need service and/or replacement. * Still got problems? Check with vendor or MFR for service or replacement. Error 5 message on lcd screen. What does this

That means prime the water circuit. It should prime by itself. If the machine is making noise and still failed to prime, you can do it manually by going into test mode , set the multi valve to hotwater position and operate the pump . When the water flow freely turn off the machine and restart it. Hope it will help.

Do you know an authorized Saeco coffee machine repairer in the Lilydale Victoria area?

Hello, Rob - Saeco is a brand name of Philips. This is the link to the Philips Australia web site: https://www.philips.com.au/?locale_code=en_us&remember_locale=en_au On that web site you can choose the link for Support (near the top of the web page.) Move your computer cursor down the drop down menu and left click on Service Centre Location. In the drop down menu for service centres, left click on Household Products. Scroll down the drop down menu which appears to find repair centres in the Melbourne area. When you left click on a service centre business name, you will see a map showing where the repair centre is located. Note: I am answering your question from the USA.

Saeco Odea Giro nozzle blocked.

First, I'm Not a Saeco Representative, though I have worked on some Saeco machines. ** Most cases of one side not dispensing coffee is usually coffee that has dried and built up over time to coat the least used spout. This is caused by the machine not being flushed or cleaned daily. ** Follow the MFR's daily cleaning instructions to keep you unit operating properly. ** fill a glass up of water to the rim and place on drain tray. the water in the cup should be even with the glass lip all around the cup. If it's leaning to one side then your machine (or table it on) needs to be level in order for the spout to dispense evenly. Another way to check is to place 2 shot glasses under each spout and brew a double shot. Both should fill at the same time and be the same amount when finished. ** Check your MFR's kit to see if there is a small brush to allow for nozzle cleaning. Otherwise follow the cleaning instructions and do multiple cleanings to get rid of the coffee residue. Once cleaned you need to maintain a regular cleaning schedule. ** There are no serviceable parts in these small home machines. Suggest contacting your vendor or Saeco for service or replacement. Hi despite being very familiar with the features on my Royal... I am now unable to turn "OFF" the cup heater... I turn it of and on and off in the Menu but makes no difference.. It just stays on heati

Hi Had two of those machines - very nice but now dated - one had done over 35,000 cups!. While you may have turned it off, it may still be 'hot' as it get heated by the boilers below, if left on for a while. Otherwise, its an electronic machine with its own little brain - that may well have "thrown a wobbly" and decided to ignore your menu changes. If otherwise the machine is fine, you can always detach the power to the cup heater if you feel inclined to remove the top of the machine. UNPLUG then remove, water and coffee bean tanks (mind the screws), + two screws in front corners underneath top edge - lift gently off, watch the cappucino frother on left side - also chrome frother tube on front left. From memory two wires to heater - one earth, the other is power. Remove power wire, cover wires terminal with insulation tape thoroughly - reinstall bits in reverse order. Cheers Mike

Saeco Vienna superautomatica won't dump grounds puck into dump box

This needs looking at by a Saeco repair shop - the brew unit travels in a distinct 'pathway' from being empty, to filled, to coffee being tamped, then to being emptied. Yours is obviously not working as intended. It may be the brew unit needs lubricating ( NOT OIL) or it may be the gear system that drives the brew units movements that needs attention. Cheers Mike.

I have a Saeco giro coffee machine and nothing is coming out of where the coffee is supposed to be coming from !!! I have cleaned it and still I do not get and water or coffee out of the dispenser

There may be a problem with either the pump or the tubes from pump to brew unit.. This is around a 15 bar pressure machine and water should be flowing as normal as long as the pump is working properly and the tubes from it are clear. Check the outlet from the brew unit as old coffee oils etc can build up in places you can't normally see (or clean) without your knowledge. Is the machine making the same 'vibrating' pumping sound when its pumping??. If not the pump, which is quite a simple thing may be 'gummed up' mechanically and it may be not the waterways - descaling should keep those clean if you use proper descaler.. Cheers Mike

I have an old Saeco Caffe Charisma and hadn't

Hi, First, I'm NOT an expert on this model but have worked a bit on SAECO super automatics. The one thing I've noticed is that they use a lot of sensors on their units. The water level probe which can be a magnetic float on or near the bottom of the water tank. This needs to 'float' in the upper position and may have got stuck in the lower position. Remove tank and empty it. Shake the empty tank up and down to see if this float moves freely. Check for anything that may have stuck inside the float area. Note; this should only have water in this container. No milk, sugar, syrup, honey, etc! You would be surprised what co-workers (or kids) will pour in there. Clean and refill with clean water and try again. -2nd problem may be a water bubble in the pump and/or line. Turn off, unplug, and let cool for 5-10 mins. Plug in again and try to re-start. -If you still can't get it to make coffee then I strongly suggest turning to your Vendor or the Saeco MFR. These units are like TV's now where they change out whole sections instead of individual components. *Do not open up this type of unit as there really isn't anything that can be fixed by the customer or even the casual handyman.*
