It's not blowing the fuse or breaker, may be a weak motor stalling under impeller pressure in the volute case.

the tray that houses the cleanout plugs needs to be removed and pry'd up. thr pump is straight down from there.

Hi, if you can switch on the pump, it's OK. Usually, the pump needs the helm switch on AND the float up. Does the pump not shut off when you push the float down? That would be normal operation, unless the helm switch has both automatic and manual settings.

Sounds like the pump is cooked, probably need a new one. Also check the switch on the dash, sounds like it might have failed leading to over running the pump dry, overheating the motor causing a short in the motor somewhere. Boat electrics need regular maintenance, looking behind the panel with some switch cleaner in your hand is a good idea.

west marine and overtons sell just the adapter kits

It has an inbuilt float switch that may be sticking. Pull it out and tap it this may fix it. If not it will have to be replaced. Regards Phil

Sounds like it is no longer automatic, essentially you need to replace the unit.

Never buy a trailer with the same capacity as the weight of your boat! This can be very dangerous! Instead, make sure the trailer's capacity is at least twice that of the weight of the boat, all your gear, and the boat's motor.

Small yachts, also known as Silboats or Cabin Cruisers are 20-40 feet. There are of course larger Yachts that can get to over 100 feet, also known as Mega Yachts.

I would clean the fuel filters and empty the water retainer filter then do some testing.

Then two Deep Cycle Gel Batteries, one for the marine electronics, fish finder etc, and another that powers the front bow mounted Trolling motor. You will find them in the deck lockers. Open them, release any tie downs, undo the cables and lift them out for Winter storage. I keep mine in my garage and I put them on a battery minder for 24 hours once a month. check water flow pump fail -corrosion--debris blockage---check fluids--gear oil etc

Commonly caused by clogged air filter. Also suspect buildup in exhaust mixing elbow. Smoke will build up carbon deposits over time and clog them. What color is the smoke? unburnt fuel will smoke and cause heat. Could be a fuel pump or dirty/bad injector not atomizing fuel correctly. If smoke is steam.... If there isn't proper flow or there is air in raw water system, the air hits heat exchanger and immediately turns to steam. Will result in overheating.

It's electronic fuel injection so it needs power to run. Mercury is usually a yellow wire from stator that goes to a voltage regulator that charges battery when running. Good luck!!
