TREADMILL: Stairmaster quinton 510 stuck in SAFE mode. Help!!
Does your Stairmaster display all 8's?
If your Quinton treadmill powers up
and displays all 8s but will not operate, the Limited Access Switch has
been activated. The treadmill will not operate unless the magnetic key
is in its place on the display or the Limited Access Switch has been
deactivated.
How to Deactivate the Limited Access Switch:
- Press POWER to turn off the treadmill
- At the same time, press and hold the +, -, and POWER keys.
Continue holding all keys until the 8s on the display disappear.
Release the keys.
The Limited Access Switch will remain deactivated until the magnetic key is put in its place on the display.
I hope that helps.
Tectrix personal climber - the resistance is very tight
There are a few ways that you can try to adjust the resistance on your Tectrix personal climber. First, you can try going into test mode and using the up and down arrow keys to adjust the resistance. If that doesn't work, you can try resetting the machine back to its original factory settings. To do this, you'll need to access the menu system on the machine and navigate to the reset option. Finally, if neither of those methods work, it's possible that the previous owner of the machine adjusted the settings for their own body weight. In this case, you'll need to contact Tectrix customer service for assistance in resetting the machine. Thanks for your question!

From the manual: Troubleshooting
Symptom: The walking belt slows when walked on
a. If an extension cord is needed, use only a 14-gauge general purpose cord of five feet or less in length.
b. If the walking belt is over-tightened, the treadmill performance may decrease and the walking belt may be permanently damaged. Remove the safety key and UNPLUG the power cord. Using the 3/16" allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counterclockwise. 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 3-4 inches off the walking platform. The center of the walking belt should just touch the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert safety key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.
c. If problem persists, contact customer service.
