Royal Sovereign Micro cut shredder RDS-808M6A/B how it for 1 week; it is now jammed and will not work; unplugged it for an hour to lett it cool down; plugged it back in; still not working

Yep. The teeth on our gear nearest to the motor melted or chewed off. We thought it was jammed, but it is the gear that needs replacing

Laminator will not stop beeping

We just brought home a new Royal Sovereign Laminator. Plugged it in and turned it on. It will not stop the loud, annoying beep and is stuck on reverse. It's going right back to the store for a refund. Will not ask for another Royal. If you can't make it right, don't try to sell it!

I am getting error code EA4... which is not described in my manual.

I've gotten this twice with my machine. I don't know what it actually means but it happens when the drive belt slips off of one or all of the gears. To fix it you will have to remove the left side cover. To remove the cover there are 4 screws: two on the bottom, one just below the royal sovereign logo one the left inside face of the bill output area, and one that's kind of hard to get to. You'll have to remove the top cover that the adjustment screw comes through. I thought I was going to break it trying to pull it off the first time, but it snaps in place, so just don't rip it off and it probably won't break. Once you have that out of the way, you;ll be able to see the screw on the left side. When you get the left side cover off you'll be able to see the belt and that it is out of place. It is easier to just pull the belt back towards it proper place while turning the other gears. Once it's in place you can hit the restart button and it should clear the error code...At least it did for me. Good Luck

FS-4DA coin sorter won't count pennies

The good news is that the unit is functioning, it's just counting pennies. I had the same problem with quarters and is a fairly easy fix. I won't get into any disassembly details, but you'll need to gain access to the infrared detectors (mounted to the motor assembly) and possibly the emitters (mounted to the front panel LCD display/push button board). Also, please be careful not the damage the wire harnesses when removing the top cover. Once apart, you can use your cell phone camera (which is sensitive to infrared) to see a purplish/white glow from a healthy emitter. Compare the penny emitter to the others and chances are it will have a lower output level and need replacing. If the penny emitter is strong, then check the detector with any infrared remote control( TV, cable box...) by pointing the IR remote control towards the penny detector and pushing any of its control buttons. This should make the penny amount count up, and fast too, as the remote sends out IR pulses while a button is being pushed. If this test doesn't increment the penny count, then the penny detector needs replacing. But before you do, try this remote control test on another known good detector to verify your findings. Please keep in mind that other malfunctions besides an emitter and detector could be the cause of your problem, but given the FS-4DA circuitry, the odds are extremely high that you have a bad emitter 1st, then a detector 2nd, as emitters are known to degrade over time and especially when continuously powered, as in the case of a switched 'ON' FS-4DA. FYI...IR emitters and detectors can be purchased from Radio Shack. Good luck and take care not to electrocute yourself when powering the unit with its cover removed.
