First make sure you have not taken out too many links of the chain. Start on one side so you can get it together. Once that one side is on I take a channel lock and grab the other side that needs to get connected and get get it as close as possible the I use a flat head screwdriver and work on it until it connects. Takes a little practice.

The four sprockets that the chain is resting on have gone bad. Pull the side cover off so you get access to the belt wrap and the chain itself. In the corners those sprockets need replacing. You will see they are very smooth. The drive chain may have came off so it will not spin the one side, but i doubt that.

Roundup is relatively very safe, (it is basically a strong saline/salt solution), but do not get it in your eyes. This is very irritating to the eyes and can cause a painful swelling and redness. Roundup is one of the best overall products to use.

I was a professional landscaper for 27 years in California. I would recommend that you look for some type of a soil sterilant, (which is a very strong weed killer, non-selective, such as Isotox). These are good for weed abatement in cracks and areas that you need more permanent weed solutions. Use caution, though, because these chemicals usually have long term effects, and could be washed into other areas that you may not want effected.

If you have the "Weed and Grass Killer Concentrate Plus", the ratio is 3oz/gallon water. 3 liters of water=0.79 gallons so use 2.4 oz of this type of Round Up. If you have the "Weed and Grass Killer Super Concentrate", the ratio is 1.5oz/gallon water so you would use 1.2 oz of product mixed into 3 liters of water. If you want to kill it, yes. What can it hurt? Either it dies or not. There are many weeds (plants) that are becoming resistant to Round-Up, but you can always try it. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

Howdy Mlavin55,It sounds like your trying to find the way for the handle to catch the threads. In this case you need to push down on the handle as you turn it counter clockwise. Within about a half turn the handle will sink just a little. Now you've got the threads and simply keep turning counterclockwise and you got it.Happy Gardening,Coach Davecommunity.homedepot
