Hi i have a problem

First, check to see if you do have 12vdc feeding the inverter bd. The problem can also be bad lamps (worst case). Capacitors look good? No bulging tops?
See example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Dell E196FPf lcd

On the back side unscrew everything you can unscrew, then using flat screwdriver with 1/4" wide blade try to disconnect halves of plastic case, there are plastic fixers over the edges, inside, so try to not brake them all :)
Next, you will need to unscrew metal cover inside to get access to the PCBs. If monitor was killed by surge, most likely you will see what is fried there. Check fuse on the PCB.

Dell D630 Laptop starts when it likes.

Chances are your nVidia card is now defective due to a known issue with certain Dell models. The GPU has a clocking issue, and melts down due to heat. BIOS A16 released to combat this, but no real fix except to replace motherboard. See http://www.itexaminer.com/nvidia-dell-hp-sued-over-defective-chips.aspx Even if out of Warranty, contact Dell Support, as they have been known to repair these issues by replacing the motherboards with ATI Video Card models.

Monitor goes black a second after turning on

Your monitor isn't recognizing the input it's receiving from the computer. Try unplugging it from both wall and computer, then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, you've probably got a bad monitor, or possibly a bad graphics card.

I turn on my Rosewill 19

14brad, It sure sounds like the "switch-mode-power-supply" has detected a fault with some other circuit or with itself and is going in and out of SHUTDOWN mode to try and save itself from having a nonrecovrable catastrophic failure. A tech will need to evaluate it, or he will buy it from you for $5 US. If he is lucky he will put less than $6 in parts into it and resell it for $40-$60. Go visit YOUTUBE and search and view video clips of LCD monitor disassembly and LCD monitor repair. also try ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm or www.badcaps.net and www.lcdparts.net for more info. Then you will be able to make a decision on what course of action you will want to take be it repair or trade-in for new monitor. If this was good info for you, please rate this response on fixya. 12fixlouie

Need to reset my rosewill power supply

Never add anything to a computer without removing power from the case. Unplug and let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute and try again, if it is still down remove the power and unplug the SATA cable. If it now boots you have a bad SATA cable or bad SATA device.

My monitor starts off with

Hi,

This is issue with the monitor and not the computer..

The power supply board of the monitor must have some worn capacitors, Changing either the power supply board should solve your issue,,

If you can deal with electrical component, open the monitor back cover and check for any bulged or worn capacitor and try replacing it....Its not with the system..

Before trying this, try changing the power cord, or connecting the monitor power directly to socket if its connected to CPU power supply..

Please leave me comment if you need further assistance

Hello make sure the power cable and the cbale that goes to the computer is connected correctly. Does the computer make the beep sound when you switch it on? The only way to really be sure that its a monitor problem would be to connect it to another computer or vice versa.

Monitor displays the PC screen but switches off within 10 second

Unfortunatley your monitor is going out. I just had that problem. My sceen would come on, but after about 10min. it would blink off and turn black. I would have to hit the off button on the monitor, then turn it back on. It would work fine for a few minutes then black out again. I got a new/used monitor where I no longer have that problem.

I did check to make sure my hybernate was not activated, it wasn't, I had it set to never turn off.

Good luck.

When i turn my monitor on my monitor goes into power save why

it might very well be an issue with the new PC's video hardware. If the monitor gets no signal within the first few minutes then it will automatically go into power save mode. Also, just as a troubleshooting idea, recheck the vga/dvi connection on the back and make sure it is seated well. You might also have a bad monitor. One week old equals exchange.

I have a AOC flat screen monitor and it got wet

hello my friend, try to blower your monitor. Open it and see if inside of the monitor is not wet cause if it is wet then it could cause some short circuit problem so the best thing to do is to let the monitor check if it is wet and dry it up before turning on
