Regarding the Roland g600, how do I install the usb drive instead of the diskette drive that is there?

The Roland G-600 is a keyboard workstation that was released in the late 1990s, and it was designed to use floppy disks as the primary storage medium for saving and loading data. However, it is possible to replace the floppy disk drive with a USB drive using a third-party upgrade kit.

Here are the general steps to install a USB drive in place of the floppy disk drive on a Roland G-600:

Purchase a third-party upgrade kit that includes a USB drive emulator and installation instructions.
Open the keyboard and locate the floppy disk drive.
Disconnect the floppy disk drive from the motherboard and remove it from the keyboard.
Install the USB drive emulator in the same location as the floppy disk drive, making sure that it is securely attached to the keyboard and connected to the motherboard.
Power on the keyboard and follow the instructions included with the USB drive emulator to configure it for use with the Roland G-600.
After installing the USB drive emulator, you should be able to use USB flash drives to save and load data on the keyboard instead of floppy disks. You may not need to update the keyboard after installing the USB drive, but it is possible that some functionality may be added or improved with a firmware update. Check the manufacturer's website or contact their support team for more information on firmware updates for the Roland G-600.

I have a Roland Camm-1Servo GX-24, and I am getting a "Report" message and it's powering off or anything

It sounds like there might be an error with the internal software of your Roland Camm-1 Servo GX-24 vinyl cutter. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the manual: Refer to the user manual to see if there is any information on what the "Report" message might mean. The manual may also have instructions for resetting the machine or troubleshooting common issues.
  2. Check the connections: Ensure that all the cables and connections are secure and properly connected. Also, check if the power source is working correctly.
  3. Check the firmware: It's possible that the firmware of the machine has become corrupted or outdated. You may need to update the firmware by downloading the latest version from the Roland website.
  4. Perform a factory reset: If nothing else works, try performing a factory reset on the machine. This will erase all the user settings and restore the machine to its original factory settings. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
If none of these steps work, you may need to contact Roland customer support or a qualified technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Roland cube lite wont light up

It could be that the wrong adapter had too high voltage.

I am lead to believe this device has an internal fuse which has likely blown and needs replacing. If not then then it will need a specialist to determine if it can be repaired.

Boss RC-3 does not power on

Most likely the device has been incorrectly powered. The most easy way to check this is the following:- unscrew the 4 screws on the RC-3 bottom - slide the board out from the connectors holes- gently detach all the connectors and wires coming to the board- locate the schottky diode (SS14) close to the power input connector- check if the diode is short- replace the diode if it is- if this does not solve the problem probably also the capacitors in the power section are shorted.Message me for further info

Boss rc 3

It seems that when you engage the recording mode, the RC 3 draws too much power and resets itself. Does it work on battery power? If so, then I'd check the power connector for good fit and for corrosion, and I'd check the adapter for proper voltage, polarity and current. Do you have a "PSA series" AC adapter? If not, then check the fine print on the adapter you have for Output, and make sure it's 9V and also that it says 100mA or higher. The Boss PSA can output 500mA and can usually drive 5-6 pedals with the right breakout cable. And I suppose you already have this, but just in case you want to RTFM: Boss RC-3 Manual.pdf 8-)

ROLAND 2480 RECIEVE ERROR MESSAGE SUB SYSTEM NOT RESPONSE

This means the low-level part of the operating system is corrupted or missing. Simply try reloading the OS by putting the CD into the CD drive. If it does not allow an OS reload or if it fails, most likely the flash ROM which holds the basic part of the OS has been zapped and will require service. You can also try to replace the internal button battery inside that retains the memory.

I have a Roland vs 840 ex it has had a c.f. drive installed the machine seems to work perfect except when I set up and get ready to record and depress play or rec it says no disk. It has a 4gb c.f. ca

Try to initialise (format) it in your computer. Use an external card reader. I think you should use FAT 16 or FAT 32. But once the Roland sees the card, do an initialise there. It could be the Roland can;t work with memory cards above 2 Gbyte, for that try to make a 1 Gbyte partition in your computer and again try if it works.

I am unable to set MX90 as a printer. It is not shown me the option when I go to Roland MetanzaStudio menu -set up the printer- Please help

I found this online....hope it helps... ========================== How do I get computer to recognize printer? You have a problem. Your computer does not recognize the printer. Moreover, you cannot reinstall the printer driver or software because you have misplaced the CD. Well, don't worry. The steps given below will help you out. STEP 1: Checking the Cable and Power Supply The simplest step comes first. Just check whether the printer cable is connected to the computer securely. Moreover, also check whether the printer power cord has been plugged in properly. STEP 2: Uninstall Old Printer Software, If any If you have had an older printer, then make sure that printer drivers and software are uninstalled from the computer. If you don't, the computer might not recognize the new printer. This problem is common in inkjet printers. STEP 3: The Paper Size A simple matter like the incorrect selection of paper might also lead to this problem. If the printer paper size does not match the size set in the printer settings, than the computer might not recognize the printer. STEP 4: Restart There are times when all it requires is to restart the computer. This is in case where you have connected the printer after loading the driver. If this is the case, then just restart your computer. STEP 5: No Pass through Device This is actually an extension of your first step. Make sure that the printer cable has a direct connection to the computer. No pass through devices must be used for this purpose. This Article is written by John C Arkin.
