Hello Hunter Your radio works off 12 volts DC (Direct Current), and your wall outlet is 110 volts AC (Alternating Current). If you plug it into the mains outlet, there will be a big bang and lots of smoke and a ruined radio. You need either a 12 volt power supply unit or a 12 volt motorcycle or car battery or 8 x D size batteries wired in series (end to end) 8 x 1.5 volts is 12 volts. On the back of the radio there should be a model number. The internet has all the information you need with regards to finding how to wire it up. Double check the red..yellow and ground wires..sounds like your not getting power.. check fuse in unit itself.. when installing any component in a vehicle..triple check and use things like solder and shrink wrap..always remove negative cable from vehicle battery prior to starting work or adjustments .also prior to removing cable from battery..reference owners manual.. some vehicles need to be disconnected a certain way to avoid future electrical and drivability problems..also ensure faceplate is secure

they sell wiring harnesses that connect to the car manufacturers radio/player harness with wires to connect to after market players, do they sell one for your car? not sure

First of all I would recomend that you consult your user's manual that should have been in the box when you purchased your reciever. Your CDR and MD in/out jacks should not be used for an EQ. Your EQ process should take place after everything else in the signal chain is completed and right before your final amplification. If you have no designated in/out for an EQ then you may have to find some other way of processing the signal. Perhaps a pre-amp may be needed in order to bring all of your signals together to then run through your EQ. Sometimes some amps have pre-out/in RCA jacks. These can often be used for an EQ.

It could be anything from a dirty laser lens to a bad laser assembly.
