if its just the stop button on the click wheel dont work try tilting the player sideways and hitting stop or push on the on the stop button on the player harder

try puting a cf card in it or look up problem on google if this doesnt help hold in menu and power for 4 seconds see if this helps in undoing the upgrader message if not try connecting it to a windows pc with xp or 7

ty holding in the play button see if it turns off hope that works

of course just go to rio mp3 players website and look for a firmware update

see what type of sd card is in it and if it is less than 4gigs of memory that should reduce loading time for booting it up,and as far as audio files just try mp3 see if that helped

try reformatting it then putting music back on it see how that helps

try hitting power and menu at the same time see if that helps because its usually what buttons put the player into upgrader mode and see if doing so has the reverse effect

did you check if you tryed every solusion and look ooon google if so that must be the best thing i can think of

go to system settings and see if it is in about in the system settings menu if not try the rio website hope this helps

google digitalnetworksna and find their site click in help and support and see if their is a manual available for download

did you google any other sites than rio that provide a driver if so see if that helps and good luck

look in top of your rio it has a little hole there put a small safety pin tip in it you will feel a button in there make a little click noise see if that reset it then if that works try charging it right after

try running in windows 7 under open instead of running as admin see if that helps

my rio carbon had the same problem and displayed upgrader all the time if it helps what i did was i cf modded my rio carbon look on google and see if your rio chiba can be cf modded and if that works that would be pretty cool and remember if you have any tech problems or mp3 problems google it and google usually will have an answer have a good day

try some super glue to put the tabs on or find some same colored duck tape at walmart or something and put a little tape on the battery cover its probably not noticable if the tape is the same color hope this helps and have a good day

desetas2415 im thinking if your using itunes and rely on syncing your mp3 you should not need plugins if you have any problems with itunes try an application called rythmbox or there is also one called banshee media player see if that helps

i would be very careful of this website because the website has no www address and offers very cheap cable and when i went to the site it was very odd compared to other sites iv seen id never send my precious mp3 to this site for repair even if rio had suggested it good day hope this solves your problem

1. look on ebay for battery if anybody would sell one. 2. go to walmart look in the flash drive isle for a sandisk ultra 2 cf card 8gb about 40$ . 3. open the rio and take out the old hard drive and then find a pc to format the cf card with a cf card reader make sure to format with windows 7 in my computer and choose quick format select default allocation size and then hit start. 4. when succesfully formatted put cf drive in rio carbon. 5. then put back plate back on carbon. 6. then look here for rio carbon developers firmware http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rio_Carbon 7. go to bottom of wikipedia page and click 3.04 Download link 1 and download the exe program and then run as administrater load up the firmware and then walla you have a working mp3 player again.

This might be something to do with any widescreen settings on either the VCR or TV.
