I have a flashed Blackberry
Sounds like your Blackberry is locked for certain provider, and it does not accept Cricket SIM card. Also, based on the search for your model, it's Verizon, which could be CDMA only. I don't know, if your SIM card for "old Cricket" (which was CDMA), or "new Cricket / AT&T", which is GSM.

If it was spotty reception, I'd suggest the antenna may have been damaged when dropped. They do get damaged.

In Settings, when is your phone configured to 'go to sleep'? After how long a period of inactivity?
It may not be considering the radio signal is be sufficient activity to justify keeping it 'awake'.

check for interference from household appliances
check the material used in the house cladding as it may be blocking the signal
indicates an environment problem in the house as different phone makes are in use and the only common factor is the service provider
you may have to pay to get a technician in to the house to measure the signal strength from the cell tower inside your house
if you have any electronic vermin plug in units in the house try switching them off as they work at a frequency that may be affecting the performance inside the house
