Roller assembly will not go back together

Usually belts do not come off unless something is worn. If your Riccar is used heavily or is over 5-10 old (depending on use) it may have a worn pivot point or motor mount. Both are inexpensive parts that will wear after years of use. If your belt is over 6-12 months old it may have lost elasticity. The brush roll end cap must be installed in the proper position and the clutch activation lever must be installed properly to work properly. You have a very durable long lasting vacuum but it does need occasional service to work properly. It may save money in the long run to have it serviced by your dealer if it's been a while.

How do I change a belt in a Riccar vacuum

Remove the screws holding the bottom plate on. Remove bottom plate. If it's an 8955 or model with clutch to shut off the brush roll remove the rod that goes from the lever to the clutch. Look closely how the rod and brush roll are positioned in the vacuum so you can reinstall it the same way. Remove the brush roll and install the new belt and then put back together as it was.
