Roller assembly will not go back together
Usually belts do not come off unless something is worn. If your
Riccar is used heavily or is over 5-10 old (depending on use) it may have a worn pivot point or motor mount. Both are inexpensive parts that will wear after years of use. If your belt is over 6-12 months old it may have lost elasticity. The brush roll end cap must be installed in the proper position and the clutch activation lever must be installed properly to work properly. You have a very durable long lasting vacuum but it does need occasional service to work properly. It may save money in the long run to have it serviced by your dealer if it's been a while.
Replacing riccar 4812 hose
To replace just the hose unscrew it from the swivel attached to the back of the vacuum. The replace swivel insert screwdrivers into the tabs holding it to the body (from inside the dust compartment) to remove it, the new one snaps into place.

Remove the bottom plate, remove the clutch switch lever, remove the brush roll. Install new belt and reassemble in reverse procedure.

How do I change a belt in a Riccar vacuum
Remove the screws holding the bottom plate on. Remove bottom plate. If it's an 8955 or model with clutch to shut off the brush roll remove the rod that goes from the lever to the clutch. Look closely how the rod and brush roll are positioned in the vacuum so you can reinstall it the same way. Remove the brush roll and install the new belt and then put back together as it was.
HOw do I replace the riccar 8850 hose?
Inside the bad compartment you can see the swivel portion sticking through. You will need to take a screwdriver and push in on the tabs on the swivel to release it so it can be removed from the body of the vacuum. The new hose ans swivel will just push into the hole and the tabs will hold it in.
