How do i install a vacuum belt?
It should loop around the roller, Rachelle, then twist one-quarter turn to hook over the motor shaft (the steel one that points straight down). Now, it CAN be hooked over the motor shaft in either of two directions, depending upon which direction you twist it - one way will make the roller run backwards and probably pop the belt back off the shaft. The other way is the correct way - if the roller rotates the correct direction when you bump the power switch, then it's on correctly.
Riccar 8900 agitator won't turn
Start by replacing the belt and make sure the clutch switch is in the correct position. If that doesn't solve it you should check the clutch in the brush roll to see if it is worn.
Why does the riccar vacuum reset button not depress?
In my experience the Riccar requires reset when it has ingested something that jams the roller such as the fringe of an Oriental carpet. Be sure to clear any such obstruction, then I use a ball point pen to press the button. It does not move very far to accomplish a reset.
Why does my riccar supralite vacuum makes a loud rattling noise like the roller is banging around?
You have something wrong with your brush roll or you have damaged the fan. Remove the brush roll and belt and turn the vacuum back on, if the noise is gone it is likely something wrong with your brush roll, if the noise persists you probably have a broken fan. You have to remove the motor and fan housing after removing the top cover, unscrew the bolt holding the fan on and install a new fan (you can get one from any Riccar or Simplicity vacuum dealer)
Where is riccar radiance filter reset button
Remove the bag door, you will see a little round rubber piece about 1/4 in diameter on the motor cover. Remove the rubber piece and very gently push the button while the brush roll motor is running
Riccar 8995 no suction
I think you mean it's an 8955, Riccar has not had a 8995 model. If there is no suction in the hose it has to have something clogging it. Open the little round opening on the back of the vacuum where the hose attaches to see if you have suction there.
Why is my carpeting getting fuzzy tips?
You might be vacuuming too much or you may have the wrong brush strips for your style of carpeting. I recommend you take a sample of your carpet to your Riccar dealer and ask them if you have the correct vacuum and brush strips for your type of carpet.
Riccar 8995 no suction
If it's been over a year since you've replaced the belt that is the first place to start. Stretch belts lose elasticity and will still turn the brush roll but when the brush roll is lowered to the carpet it may not turn fast enough to pick up properly. If you have good suction at the end of the hose check to make sure there is not an obstruction in the tube where the hose goes into the bottom of the vacuum to the brush roll. Make sure your filters are replaced at least once per year and the bag is not full or has a lot of fine powder dust in it which can clog the bag.
Riccar vacume lite for bag is on when bag is not full
sometimes that can happen if the pores in the bag are clogged, as might happen if you have been vacuuming very fine dust like wallboard dust. this means that the bag might be functionally full, even though it still appears un-full. also, check the hose for a clog, because that can also give a false indication light.
How to change belt of riccar vacuum rsl3
Remove the bottom plate after laying the vacuum upside down, make sure it's not plugged in first. Pull the brush roll out of the nozzle housing, put the new belt around the motor shaft and then the brush roll, pull on the brush roll to give you enough leverage to install the brush roll back into place, reinstall the bottom plate.
