The most likely thing is you need a new switch

Your m 2150 L is likely 25 to 30 years old. The first Riccar vacuums were made in Japan. Your was likely made in Taiwan. Production of most models was brought to St. James, MO 20 years ago. Filters, bags and some parts are still available from your local Riccar dealer, or from ThatVacGuy.com

I'm not sure if that model does but if so it will be on the back of the vacuum in the area of the motor compartment.

Perhaps the manual would be helpful: RICCAR RL343DR Instruction Book Page 14It appears that you need to install a hemming foot.=================It is not easy but it is very similar to stitching a blind hem on a sewing machine--except you will also have to be careful that the knives do not cut the fabric. It can be done, but some practice would be good before trying it on a garment. The skill is stitching on the very edge of the fabric without getting it into the knives. Check cord, esp at entry point. Otherwise it may be switch, motor windings burnt out, broken wire, carbon brushes worn. Some appliances also have a thermal fuse, which is a silver tube shape.

Hi Patty. Could be: Power cord. Check esp. strain-relief where cord enters housing. On/off power switch. Needs strip down & continuity check. Motor burnt out. Smell if burnt. Strip search. Carbon brushes inside motor worn. Dismantle & check / renew. Does this help? Regards, Clive.

If the screw has no head it may be a stray screw that doesn't belong there. Even if there is a missing screw in your Sunburst it would likely not cause any harm to it.

Search for: Make Model parts The basic concern is whether the plug for the control unit fits the plug on your machine. Even generic or other model control units may work on your machine if the plugs are compatible. A sewing machine repair shop may be able to help you. Bring the old control unit with you so they can compare.

If it's an older mechanical machine, the stitch width selector or dial has most likely seized.
