One screw on back of handle will allow handle to slide off with some force. Two screws on front above bag door will allow small cover to come off allowing access to where cord connects inside vacuum.

It has automatic height adjustment.

Reset button is at bottom on the rear of vacuum.

Red light on means a clog or restriction somewhere. Have to find it.

If you remove three screws you can remove the assembly with the foot pedal. Look at how it is installed closely in the assembly, including the spring, shaft and pedal. Disassemble it and install a new foot pedal exactly the same way you took it apart.

You may have hair and debris in the endcaps or bearings of your brushroll causing a restriction. The belt sensor thinks you have something stuck in the brushroll so it shuts it off. It's a simple fix, if you can't figure out how to do it take it to your Riccar dealer.

First make sure the bobbin-winding spindle (located on top of your machine) has been pushed back to the left for sewing. If it is not in the correct position, the needle will not go down and pick-up your bobbin thread. Next make sure your needle is inserted correctly, with the flat side facing back. Also, make sure your bobbin is in correctly the upper tension disks of your machine are threaded correctly. Make sure the presser foot is up when seating the thread through the upper tension. Turn the handwheel towards you only and hold the needle thread lightly. If this doesn't help solve your problem, the machine may have a timing problem.

If it is a mechanical machine (not computerized), it could probably use a good cleaning and oiling. Will not zigzag or decorative stitches New to these newer plastic style...

Difficult to advise. Can you operate it manually by turning the handwheel clockwise? Does the motor make noise when you step on the foot control but the needle does not move? It appears to be a mechanical machine. If so, it could need a good cleaning and oiling. That is probably a good place to start. (Consult your owner's manual and use ONLY fresh good quality sewing machine oil.)
