Water was only warm this a.m.- not as hot as it

Possible igniter trouble. Should get an expert and watch him and see what he does. That way the next time you just might be able to repair it.

Rheem gas water heater pilot light went out when i tried to relight it does not light up again.

Usually if they won't re-light it's a problem with the orifice on the pilot itself. The thermocouple won't cause it to re-light but it will prevent it from staying on after being lit. Just make sure you have valve set to pilot when you press the red button down to light. You can take out the burner by removing the gas and thermocouple lines, unscrew the orifice and use like a wire brush bristle to clean out the hole in the orifice.

Turn off the main water to the house , turn off gas to heater open lowest hot tap to take pressure off .Undo union on hotwater tap outlet on heater more water will come out , open cold tap at sink that will take pressure out of main . you should be able to change valve with out getting too much wet .

Installed a new rheem water heater last night and still no hot water. It has power thermostat set at 130.

Turn off the heater then open the bleeder valve on top of the tank to let the air escape. Once all of the air has been bled off, faucets included then turn your heat back on.
