Just re[placed the upper and lower element on our hot water heater. That was three hours ago. the water is still cold.

Push in reset button located on upper thermostat. Push circuit breaker fully off and then fully on. Make sure tank is filled with water before turning power ON or elements will burn out http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-electric-problems-with-water-heater.html#new Gene If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gene_9f0ef4df2f9897e7

Im trying to drain a 40 gallon water heater. How

1) Open link below to see how to open clogged water heater.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-will-not-drain.html

2) Water heater should take 20 minutes to drain.

3) Here's what to do.
Turn off heat source to water heater:
-electric: turn off circuit breaker
-gas: turn knob to pilot
Turn water off at shut-off valve located above tank on cold water line, or at main shut off.
Open bathtub spout on hot side to let air into tank.

4) When work is finished, close drain valve, turn water on, and wait until water if flowing full stream out of bathtub spout before turning power on to water heater.

5) Another helpful link:

Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on water heater or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Pilot light keeps going out

Either the pilot light orfice is dirty, and you will need to pull it out and clean it, or the thermocouple is bad. If the pilot goes out as soon as you let the button go then it is most likely the thermocouple. If the pilot stays lit for a few days or hours then you will need to clean the pilot orfice, heres how:
1 turn off the gas supply
2 unhook the main burner gas line from the thermostat, this is the line that goes to the burner
3 unhook the pilot supply line it is usually next to the main burner line
4 unhook the thermocouple from the thermostat
5 remove the burner assembly
6 take the orfice out of the pilot line and clean it out by blowing thru it, use an air compressor if needed.
7 reassemble and light pilot

HOW TO REMOVE ANODR ROD FRO 606 RELIANCE

It is the 1" or 11/8" hex nut on the top of the water heater some where buy the supply line. As for the anode rod it could be either magnesium or aluminum depending where it was sold. If you are going to change it out call your water provider and ask which would be better for your area and water. To remove you need to turn off the electric, shut the water supply and drain off some of the water so it wont overflow, then it simply unscrews. Use teflon tape or sealer on the thread before installing the new one, then turn everything back on and purge the air from the system by opening a faucet.

Where and how do I register my reliance hot water heater

Save receipt for warranty purpose. Without receipt, the warranty is based on date of manufacture which can be several months, or 1-2-3 years before actual installation. With reliance, first two digits of serial number are date of manufacture. Second two digits are week of the year. Registration at following link using serial number located on label on side of tank: http://www.reliancewaterheaters.com/resources/product-registration Gene If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gene_9f0ef4df2f9897e7

I asked a question about my reliefe valve opening twice. and twice your "experts" gave answers about a thermal couple. what the ****!!!!! i thought they were EXPERTS

Often there is a 'suggested' answer from previous date that has nothing to do with your question. You are asking about +temperature-pressure relief valve on water heater? Unknown type and model water heater. http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-replace-TP-valve.html http://waterheatertimer.org/TP-valve-code.html http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-fix-water-heater.html Gene If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gene_9f0ef4df2f9897e7

98 saturn with trottle wide open engines revs up then down

Sound like you have a bad TPS. Also make sure your throttle body is nice and clean, that will contribute to the problem.
