Look on the sides and back for a small inspection door. At the corresponding place on the inside, should be an opaque cover where the light shines into the cavity. The inspection door normally has a single screw, remove it and unscrew the bulb. Replace with a new bulb and re-fix the door. An easy 5 minute job. Go to RCA website, look for support, under support look for user manuals, enter your particular microwave model and download the manual. You should be able to find out how to exit childproof mode.

LOUD NOISE WOULD BE A SHORTED MAGNETRON OR DIODE OR BOTH

You need to know if it is sending power to the Big High Voltage tranjsformer. You say it is timing down, but does it run like normal and just no heat?? Or is it timing down but not running. If that is the case probably bad door switches and bad connections to the switch. If it is running but no heat , possiblw bad magnetron or bad connections at the mag.

I would phone the supplier and request an under warranty repair as it is not 12 months old yet.

if it is in cook mode --yes- if you are not cooking then --no if the answer is no get a warranty check as it could be faulty
