Hi my son has a Raymarine that would not sw on as I am a Baggy tech I pulled the unit down and located the fault to the front panel.Due to the ingress of salt water.Before you start to repair this unit a clean workbench /containers for screws /good lights--no kids /dogs --pests(beer) use a felt tip pen and mark cables do not force out use care as the cables are of a printed type Where I found salt water corrosion on the printed circuit board remove front cover screws on the back of unit Clean down all salt laden areas with cotton buds and mix 40% metho 10% duco thinners and the rest warm water and dry offUse a magnifier to locate the corrosion on the tracks on and behind the switches gently scrape the old pale green paint off expose good copper and test back to a terminal for continuity and then solder fine fuse wire along the tracks copper to copper with a 15watt iron not too much heat then temp assemble and test from one end of track to the other.If all good then look for any more corrosion and fix this too then seal the pcb with a clear lacquer or a thin smear of epoxy ,you will find that the seal that is on the outer casing is suspect and of poor design and it may need a smear of some butyl mastic so it can be removed later also before you do this. With your hot soldering iron reform the screw holes on the case as the brass nuts will pull out as the plastic is of poor quality and deteriorates with age.This should apply to all Raymarine units.Happy fishing give feedback please

First of all - is the boat compass correct? How does it align with COG? Secondly, do you have a magnetic field that interfere with the fluxgate? To test for this you can use the compass on your smartphone or a handheld compass, move about in the boat and keep the phone/compass aligned with the keel. If the heading drifts in the area where you have your fluxgate today, move it.

Make sure that the fuse is not blown by checking with an ohm meter. The circuit that the wheel pilot is on may also have a breaker. Make sure that the breaker is not tripped. If the unit keeps tripping the breaker or blowing the fuses, then the motor is going bad, or at least needs some maintenance.

I had a similar situation, didn't have much luck on line. Finally I went to a local battery supply - like batteries plus, or similar. They used the information off the dadio and the battery to find a supplier. Not cheep though.
