The Raymarine ST8002 Smartpilot the unit powers up but does not work when the auto mode is selected. The hydraulic motor does not engage when a course is set. What could be the source of the fault?
According to a post on the Raymarine forum, this error message could indicate an issue with either the steering, the drive unit, the rudder reference unit (if fitted), or the course computer . The post suggests a few tests that you can do yourself to figure out which item is causing the issue.
I suggest that you try the following steps:
Check the connections between the ST8002 SmartPilot and the other components of your autopilot system.
Check the calibration of the ST8002 SmartPilot and the other components of your autopilot system.
Check the hydraulic fluid level and the hydraulic pump pressure.
Check the hydraulic pump motor and the hydraulic pump solenoid valve.
If none of these steps work, I recommend that you contact Raymarine customer support for further assistance.

Raymarine C70 MFD wont 'Restart GPS'
Perform a factory reset: If your Raymarine C70 MFD is not responding, you can try performing a factory reset. This will restore the device to its original settings and may resolve the issue. To perform a factory reset, follow the instructions provided.

Check GPS source: It's possible that there's some confusion in the system configuration about what GPS source is in use, and this might cause your false Route Complete alert. You can check what's shown in Home > Settings > Network > Data Sources on the Master display.
Update software: If the above steps do not work, you can try updating the software of your Raymarine C70 MFD. You can download the latest software update files from

Charts won't load on raymarine e80 chart plotter
If you are having trouble loading charts on your Raymarine E80 chartplotter, there are several things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the chart card: Make sure that the chart card is inserted correctly and that it is compatible with your chartplotter. Some chartplotters require specific types of chart cards, so check the user manual or contact the manufacturer to ensure compatibility.
2. Check for software updates: Make sure that your chartplotter has the latest software updates installed. You can check for updates on the Raymarine website or by contacting customer support.
3. Check the chart source: Make sure that the chart source is set correctly on your chartplotter. If you have multiple chart sources (e.g. internal memory, external card), make sure that the correct source is selected.
4. Check the chart format: Make sure that the chart format is compatible with your chartplotter. Some chartplotters only support certain chart formats, so check the user manual or contact the manufacturer for compatibility information.
5. Check for obstructions: Make sure that there are no obstructions blocking the GPS antenna or interfering with the chartplotter's reception. Obstructions can include tall buildings, trees, and other objects that block the line of sight to the GPS satellites.
6. Reset the chartplotter: Try resetting the chartplotter to its default settings. This can sometimes clear up software glitches or other issues that may be preventing the charts from loading.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Raymarine customer support for further assistance or repair.
Take care and have a great day! -Alex
How do I connect my garmin 741sx with my raymarine St 4000 with nmea 183
To connect your Garmin 741sx with your Raymarine ST 4000 using NMEA 183, you will need an NMEA 0183 interface cable to connect the two devices. Here are the steps to follow:
- Obtain an NMEA 0183 interface cable that has the correct connectors for your Garmin 741sx and Raymarine ST 4000.
- Connect one end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA output of your Garmin 741sx.
- Connect the other end of the NMEA 0183 interface cable to the NMEA input of your Raymarine ST 4000.
- Configure your Garmin 741sx to output NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Garmin 741sx manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA output.
- Configure your Raymarine ST 4000 to receive NMEA 0183 data. Refer to your Raymarine ST 4000 manual for instructions on how to configure NMEA input.
- Once both devices are configured, the data from the Garmin 741sx should be transmitted to the Raymarine ST 4000 via the NMEA 0183 interface cable.

I got a raytheon sl70 pathfinder gps that wont get
If you're using a raystar 125 antenna, you will have to power the red wire + and the shield wire - separately. Sl70's don't provide power over seatalk. Also make sure your green and brown wires are properly connected. If it's a 120 just power the red and sheild(black) and leave off the all except the yellow that's your data. If you still have nothing may probably have a problem in the antenna itself.

Raymarine c120 classic intermittent no data source
"Finally convinced him that **your** specs requiring the 4c cable at those lengths was correct"
You know we are Fixya and not Raymarine? We just have a Raymarine category for handy filing of questions and answers.
This question needs a factory service department technician on the phone.
As a boat owner, who doesn't have radar, and reading your post carefully, I would suggest the connection at the top of the mast. It is far more hostile up there, and it has been up there a long time.

Radar Raymarine HD wiring diagram, how to wire to Raymarine C120 unit
After nearly 4 years I dunno if you got this sorted.
The question is ambiguous, as Raymarine radar comes with wiring harnesses; the display end is a plug-and-play 12-pin male to the harness end female; the other end goes up the mast in a plastic sleeve to prevent damage to the 8-pin connector and the 2 or 4 power cables (depends on "light" or "heavy").
There's a means of connecting a digital radar to the C120 but I don't have that so don't know the specifics.
Is this the sort of information you were looking for?
My S100 and the computer
I have a similar problem with my S100 remote in that the remote shows No Link and then No Pilot. Did you solve the problem.
